Yesterday I showed you my altered sweater and here I'm showing off my newly altered dress. I bought this dress a few years back when I was shopping in NY at Woodbury Common at Kensie. I think I paid $15 for the dress. I should have taken a photo of the original since I've made quite a few changes to it. I took the collar off, made pockets and then put the collar where the pockets are now to highlight them. I cut the neckline open to a v-neck and then added all the floral embellishments and embroidery. In the end I'm very happy with my one-of-a-kind piece.
I think that the yellow belt really accents the 1950's silhouette of the dress and also gives me a waist.
