Vintage Fantasy Dress Flamenco Dancer Part 5
I had the wonderful opportunity to see authentic Flamenco dancers when I was in Spain a few years back.
We saw them in a cave. It was incredible. An experience I will never forget. The dancers were so intense.
It was like they were in a trance.
The cave was small and intimate. The sounds they made by clapping their hands, stomping their feet and beating their chests were amplified by the stone walls.
The dancers we saw were part of a family that had been dancing Flamenco for generations.
This woman was dancing so fast she was just a blur.
All the dancers sit on stage with the musicians and each one has their turn to get up and dance their story.
I was impressed by two of the women, the mother and the daughter but without a doubt it was the male dancer (I believe their son) that blew my mind.
He had the ability to make each person in the audience feel like he was dancing uniquely for them. His stare and intensity burned through my soul.
It was so magical it was almost orgasmic.
I’m not joking! This is the first time I was so moved by a dancer.
That memory has stayed with me. Should I return to Spain one day I hope to revisit the same area near the Alhambra to experience the wonder again.
Vintage Fantasy Dress Flamenco Dancer
When I came across this amazing vintage Flamenco at Talize I knew it was coming home with me.
All the very best fantasy dresses have transformative powers.
As soon as I put it on I felt like a woman of mystery and rhythm.
The dress has stories to tell just like those Flamenco dancers told us their stories that warm evening in Spain.
I wore this dress to watch Dracula at the Shaw Festival.
We took some photos in the hotel stairway before we left for the theatre.
Sadly you can’t see the handmade fabric flower I had in my hair.
I felt very Dolce Gabbana in this outfit.
Here is my best accessory.
It was the perfect outing for this fantasy dress the last in this series…for now ; ) I know there will be many more fantasy dresses in my life thanks to my love of thrifting.
Do you own any transformative fantasy dresses? How do they make you feel?
Have you ever seen Flamenco dancing? Was it what you expected?
Linking up with the lovely Patti over at Visible Monday.
