Do you need some inspiration for Christmas party outfits ideas? Me too.
I’m still trying to figure out what to wear for this Christmas dance we have on the weekend. I know everyone will be doing the typical thing at a Christmas dance…very fancy and lots of red. Since I really don’t own any red (other than my new fantastic cape that doesn’t really count because that is outerwear) I’ve been style brainstorming a bit and came up with this…
Top & Belt – from some little dress shop last year, Shoes – Me Too!, Skirt – Anthropologie
inspired by looks like this… I tried to create my own version from pieces I already own.
I like it but I still secretly wish the top was all beaded or sequined.
One thing I know…I want sparkle.
Ideally I want colour too.
But sometimes we can’t have everything we want in life.
This might be one of those times.
Do you have a special Christmas evening outfit planned for an event or gathering? If so are you planning on wearing red or sequins?
Or are you just planning on curling up on the couch in your pjs with a bottle of wine utterly exhausted from all the hype, unrealistic expectations and running around at this time of year?

Wow! That is a great holiday look. Don’t worry about no color. I like it just like it is. Especially love the leopard shoes.

I love everything about this look from the top to the shoes. I have a pair of sparkly shoes that would be very matchy matchy with your top. They are glittery gold with black glittery toe caps.
I wore them to a holiday party last weekend with some black ankle pants, a cropped jacket, ivory shell and big pearl necklace. I think it’s going to be my standard holiday outfit for the rest of the season.
I’m sorry, lovely, I’m quite DISTRACTED by your glorious couch and wall…….goggle goggle…..DIVOON!
Now, what si the problem?! O, hell, darl, you look wonderfully, glamorously festive! Sparkles and leopard, what could possibly go wrong?!
I covet those shoes..and the couch……..XXXXXXXXXXX
Lovely outfit. And apart from elegant and stylish, so much daring and different than most of the typical holiday dressing I see. And I mean that very sincerely. I will go through your posts as I always find them very interesting, but cannot comment on each one. Time difficulties.

Hmmm? This sofa looks familiar from a recent photo shoot! Oh yes, I remember a sweet little pug! Now a sexy redhead is reclining on it!
You definitely look sparkly and ready to dance!! Time to kick up your heels lovely lady in gold and black!! Gorgeous!!
I’m wearing a red dress that I wore in a fashion show. I have to an sparkles with jewellery and a fancy fascinator for my hair (mine has bling without feathers).

Oh how I love that first picture of you lying on that glamorous sofa, like Hollywood royalty! No need to search for a different holiday outfit. The one you’re wearing is perfection!
I have no parties to attend so pjs sound quite appealing to me right now.
Strangely I can wear a shirt covered in sequins and polka dots out on an average day as “casual wear” but for more holiday attire, I tend to go for black.
I adore your look though – the gold sequins and black tulle are festive without screaming holiday!
This couch is a great place for a bit of glamour! Great outfit, the top is unique and skirt is fun for any evening. Cute shoes and belt, you can send them my way. Your pug is a cutie on your past post.

This is the perfect dancing outfit!! I am not a dancer but I love skirts/dresses that have some flair…so much prettier when you spin. I don’t have anything planned for Christmas yet but I have been trying to use more holiday-ish clothes for work.

You look fabulous relining on your rock star sofa and your outfit is fabulous. Why do add a glitter belt or a red patent one to add the pop of colour or glitter you crave? xxx
Very nice look, Suzanne. Maybe you could add a sparkly headband with sequins? And/or a sparkly clutch? And of course sparkly make up!
I love it just as it is. The sequin bodice gives the top interest without being too blingy. The leopard heels are the icing on the cake. Yowza!
That skirt is so fun and festive! perfect for this time of year 🙂

Your holiday outfit is super cute! I love the skirt and the top has the perfect amount of sparkle. And can I mention that your couch is freaking gorgeous?! I have two holiday parties this year and I’m going in a one shoulder maternity maxi dress from ASOS. I’m not particularly fond of it but it fits so that’s all that matters at this point haha!
I love the sparkles with the fun shoes!
We are going to a dinner tomorrow night. It is not too fancy. It is at a western steakhouse. So, I am wearing a neon orange taffeta ballgown skirt, and denim shirt. I have no clue what I am wearing for shoes and jewelry. Hopefully I figure it out soon!

I think this ensemble is PERFECT for parties. This year I am going to wear white.. can’t find anything sparkly that I like.. I do have a red dress that have yet to be worn but it is long and I would prefer something shorter actually.

Ohhh I love the sparkle! This dress is so pretty and looks great on you!
I love the first photo. It’s the incredible loveseat, the mirror collage, the suitcases, everything! I feel like you should have a thought bubble over your head that reads something like, “I’m hot stuff this holiday season!” I love how you built this outfit. Granted, it’s not colorful, but we’ve been over this already over on my blog. Apparently all women want to wear black for the holidays. In mourning of what? Their pocketbooks? Their bloated tummies from all the champagne and snacks?
You really have a knack for pairing pieces I’d never think to pair. The top and skirt both seem like statement pieces because of their sequins and swiss dots, so I wouldn’t think to put them together. But it’s the juxtaposition of the two textures and the sweet details that makes the outfit interesting. Plus, pop a bow belt on it, and you look like a festive present yourself!

Hi Suzanne!
I have missed posts again! ah well! I have this special vintage red velvet maxi that i want to wear on X-Mas Eve – It’s at the seamstress at the moment it needs a little repair – I can’t wait to wear it –
I love this look/outfit and it is really festive without the red. it’s the sparkle that jazzes it up. The skirt is so pretty, I sort of want to steal everything from this post and make it my holiday outfit!
and to answer your question I don’t have any outfits planned for the holiday stuff… i really should get on that!
