Flower Power
Is that a huge flower on your chest or are you just happy to see me?
That was the first thing I thought of when I spotted this oversized flower on a sunny yellow blouse while thrifting. The blouse still had the tags on it. It’s only when I thrift that I come across such wild and crazy pieces.
The leather skirt was also thrifted a while back.
Although I love the blouse I need a size up. Since that isn’t an option when thrifting I can see this will be appearing in my Etsy shop soon. Someone else with a quirky sense of style can enjoy it.
I don’t have much to say this week as we are still reeling from the horrible attack that occurred on the streets of Toronto when a 25 year old man took a van and drove it into people on the sidewalk killing 10 and injuring another 13. It saddens me beyond all belief. My heart goes out to the families of those killed or hurt.
Be well and be kind.
Such a horrific attack. I’m full of admiration for the Toronto police who managed to capture the perpetrator without firing a single bullet.
That blouse is incredible, it looks amazing on you and utterly perfect with the leather skirt. It’s got a Spanish feel to it, what a find. I’m sure that’ll soon be snapped up if you can bear to part with it (I don’t think I could). xxx
Initially I was going to keep the blouse for myself but then saw that it was a bit too tight in the photos. : (
I love the color mix you have going on here and that top is Kuute! Horror is happening everywhere these days and I’m glad they caught him.
You’ve been in my mind more than usual these last few days. My heart hurts for all the victims and their families.
Hugs,
Sherry
I *love* it! So quirky and cute. If it was my size, I’d bribe you for it.
So sorry about the Toronto attack. Of course I thought immediately of you when I heard. It sucks that there’s evil in the world.
Great colour combination, too bad the blouse is a bit small. I’m sure someone will give it a loving home.
I’ve been following the news about the van attack – truly horrific. Kudos to the officer who got him to surrender without firing a shot. The more I read about the “Incel” community that the driver belonged to, the more I think the world is really falling apart.
I was thinking of you when I heard about the attack. I was reeling after the terrorist attacks at Brussels airport two years ago, and everything felt quite unreal for a while.
I’ve never seen a blouse quite like it. The size of the flower is out of this world. It is stunning combined with the colour of that gorgeous leather skirt. What a shame it’s not your size! xxx
fabulous blouse! love the color and that big flower is very cool!! but i would need to size up 3-4 sizes…. ahem.
the pairing with the purple leather skirt is genius! sweet shoes!
when i think about this attack and the one that has happened here 2 weeks ago i feel very sad for our world……
I am also deeply saddened about what happened in Toronto. That really shook me, that particular incident. I don’t associate can along with these sorts of attacks.
On a lighter note I adore this yellow blouse. And you have styled it here with your signature flair and expertise .
I am thinking about you. It is important to remember that there are so many more good things going on than bad. I cling to this fact, when these tragedies happen. The good things are never covered in the media, only the tragic things. But the fact that these terrible things are happening is so discouraging …

It was such a tragedy and so horrible that these things are even taking place. Good that they were able to get the guy , but so sad for the victims.
On another note, love this yellow on you and the flower adds such flair! I love the unexpected color combo as well with your leather skirt, very pretty!
Have a great week!

You are right, it is a special piece that blouse and yes, you need a size up. As for the poor people who got killed… so sad, words fail.

That blouse is truly spectacular and someone out there is going to be unable to live without possessing it.
The attack in Toronto brought you to my mind immediately Suzanne. I have great respect for your police and I’m relieved and thankful that you’re safe.
Blam – flower power!! I love this mega-huge-ultra-in-your-face (almost literally) flower. What an interesting blouse. A great find. Someone will fall in love with it.
As for the tragedy, I naively never expected this to happen in Canada. And I am happy that the officer did not shoot. Sometimes I think there should be no media coverage of these events so other people don’t get ideas, but with social media that would be impossible. It’s a deep problem.
