I love a good scapegoat.
Rebecca you are my goat this time around.
I am blaming my obsession over this red leather jacket with removable sleeves on Rebecca from Winnipeg Style when she was on holiday in Scotland.
That jacket is just too perfect. You can partially unzip the sleeves and wear it like a cape. Or take them right off and wear it like a vest.
I think I became a jacket/coat hoarder this year. I am definately making up for years past.
I snuck these photos in before we got the huge dumping of snow.
Leather coat & clutch – Danier, Boots – TJ Maxx, Hat – estate sale, Scarf – made by my Mom
So even if I own too many just enough coats now don't expect to see me back outside for photos until Spring.
I may be from Canada but by no means does that mean I do well in our winters. The older I get the more I understand why so many "Snow Birds" leave Canada for Florida for the winter months.
How do you like the hat? It is from the estate sale where I got that fab coat. It is wool, made in Scotland and I paid $0 for it. Yep. They gave it to me for free with the coat and some books. Free people! It doesn't get any better than that.
And no, before you ask this coat wasn't free…but I figure it balances out the free hat plus I am counting this as one of my Christmas present.
That is my story and I am sticking with it.
When was the last time you bought yourself a new coat? Or am I the only one with this peculiar addiction?

That’s a fabulous coat, and I really like how you’ve added textural detailing with the clutch.

Those zip-off sleeves were massive in the 1980s, weren’t they? Your coat certainly beats the snow washed denim batwing inspiration though! Gorgeous! x

It’s beautiful! What a gorgeous fit for your figure. Goes great with your super enviable boots. (:
“I have a jacket buying problem!” my friend Athena, to whom I relate completely. My latest coats were three(!) I found at the Goodwill, and they gave me 30% off from my coupon on all of them! I got pink leather coat, wool Searle coat, and teal wool CAbi coat.

Oh you look so good in that coat. Wow. And I love that they gave you the hat for free. You wear it well! XO, Jill

It’s hard for me to find a decent coat that fits, since I’m petite and slim – Plus they take a lot of room – I already so much stuff – But i like to have a variety that is for sure –

I love coats — from afar, as I hardly need more than one or two! You look fetching in this fab coat, and a free hat — now that’s a very good day.

Just a minute, did you say the sleeves are removable? And it’s got a moto zip, too? Well, of course you had to buy it. Duh. It’s gorgeous, and you look great in it. The hat is just the cherry on top!

Even without it blowing dramatically in the wind as Rebecca’s is, you look very hip in this!

I agree…they take up lots of valuable closet real estate. Thus why I have a separate closet just for coats, although that has even started to get a bit cramped this year. I think I need to take some in to the consignment that I’m not wearing as much anymore.
Suzanne says
No doubt you don’t need them. You must have a closet full of bathing suits though no? ; )

Thanks Val. I feel totally validated now : )

I know…I tried to get my pug to blow really hard so I’d have the same lovely windy effect here but all she did was get dizzy and lay down. My personal assistant is useless. Except for eating or sleeping. Then she is the master of the universe.

Ha ha! I don’t know about that. When I edit my photos I often think, “yeesh! not one usable photo here.”

Thanks for stopping by : )
I envy your sewing prowess.

I just laughed so hard when I saw this title! I know I am a bad shopping influence or a good one? I am not sure yet! You look so fantastic in the coat! I love the color on you and I am sure we will both get lots of use out of it when it warms up!

Rebecca’s coat is a stunner. And so is yours!!! I don’t buy too many coats since it’s just not cold enough. I googled Rebecca’s jacket and it’s on sale for $249. I am very tempted to pick this up for myself. I love the option of unzipping the sleeves!! If I get this, I will be blaming you my friend 🙂

Fabulous coat, fabulous hat, fabulous whole outfit. I love all of it. I want that coat…you and I look super great in burgundy! I feel ya on the snow. It’s to be expected in northwest PA, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Of course right now it’s 50 degrees and raining…WTH?!

So beautiful! So perfect. I am glad you bought it. This is so you. And no you are not the only one with this addiction. When I bought my purple winter coat two months ago (one month?) I also bought a leopard spring coat and it wasn’t even in the sale. I am waiting for my cloakroom bar to give up.

If you do get the coat Alice…you need to order XXS. This is an XXS and the sleeves are still too long for me. I think I could have tried the XXXS but they didn’t have any left in Canada.

That coat is seriously gorgeous!! I do like coats…I have 2 denim jackets for Spring, my black trench coat, and my puffy coat that I really don’t like as far as style, but it’s by far the warmest for frigid winter days!
