Pink Florals For Fall
I’m delighted those antiquated ideas about wearing certain colours in certain seasons are dead.
Whatever colour strikes your fancy is the one you should be wearing.
I know that pink florals do not exactly scream fall and I’m okay with that. It’s not fall yet and I’m not in a hurry to rush it in. Right behind fall is winter waiting in the wings and the longer I can hold that off the happier I will be.
This outfit came together serendipitously on its own.
As is often the case I found both the blouse and the jacket at the same thrift store on the same day. I looked at each of them on their own and wasn’t convinced I should buy them for my shop. It was only when I put them together that I knew I had something special. Of course the fact that I had other pieces in my wardrobe that worked perfectly was the cherry on top.
Print Matching Tip
The pinks in these prints aren’t the same hue so normally they shouldn’t work well together.
The trick? They both have the same colour of green…that is the linking element that makes them play so well together.
Did you notice all the different shades of pink?
In the past I wouldn’t have combined all of these but now I know better. Layers of different shades and hues of pink create visual texture and depth. The shirt and skirt are warm pinks (yellow orange undertones) and the jacket and the boots are cold pinks (blue undertones).
Both of these pieces can currently be found in my Etsy store.
The vintage floral blouse is here and the floral jean jacket is here.
I also bought these amazing Coach shoes and this Asian jacket together.
Two ideal pieces for the fall.
You can find the Asian jacket for sale here and the gorgeous coach shoes for sale here.
Can I tell you a little secret? The black midi dress I’m wearing with it is actually an elastic waist maxi skirt hiked up above my chest. #truestory
Our weather has taken a sudden turn and dropped about 20 degrees in the last two days. I don’t mind a break from the heat and humidity but I’d like summer to stick around a little longer.
Which outfit do you prefer? When you shop do you often buy pieces that go together?

You KNOW I love that jacket + blouse together. Looks like a designer whose name rhymes with Pucci : >
The Coach pumps are amazing, I’ve never seen similar in the shops. And you look wonderful, as ever. xox

Gorgeous outfits! I’m so drawn to the dusty rose color for fall and I love the florals!
love both looks!
the first for the yummy colors and the last for this beauty of a jacket and the gorgeous shoes…..
and this rose tints suit you so very well!!!
and i´m all against that saying that it is autumn right now! its LATE SUMMER! we still have 27°C at middays – still shorts weather – only the nights and mornings are chilly.
for me autumn starts in october. and even then i will wear pastels or white or whatever – jawoll.

Glad those silly rules have gone- wear what colours you love whenever you like. The pink florals are always so pretty, the shirt reminds me of a Liberty print. I do love that Asian inspired jacket, it would be so good with so many pieces. You do find so many wonderful things.
Love the floral jacket and blouse with the suede skirt. And, of course I knew you’d have a fab pair of boots to go with! When I shop for myself, I really try to buy pieces that I already know will go with something I already have. I used to just buy something because I liked it, then would get home and have nothing to wear it with. That would result in yet another shopping trip where I would have to try and find something to go with the something I previously purchased that didn’t go with anything! My closet became overcrowded, and my bank account suffered. So now I am much more careful with my choices.

I love that blouse and jacket together, you’re a stylin’ genius!
The Asian inspired jacket is just lovely.
Now Autumn’s in the air I’ve a craving for my black florals but I’m determined to hold out until we’re back from Greece ! xxx
Of course you should wear any colour that tickles your fancy, regardless of the season, and pink is no exception. Combining the pink florals of the blouse and jacket was inspiring, and I’m totally in love with your skirt. The dusky rose colour is just delicious. Oh, and I just noticed your pink boots! Want! I think there’s no need for me to add that this is my favourite outfit? xxx
I really like the “hues of pink” outfit on you. Not a colour palette I would wear but you’ve combined some beautiful pieces to create something that is greater than a sum of its parts.
The tonal pink and mixed print outfit is really nicely put together. The very instructive analysis makes it all the more intriguing!
I love how you just pop outside “the box”
In a heartbeat Suzanne. Your creative thinking skills are something to emulate.
This is a wonderful representation of the message to choose colors that we love. I love your tips on pattern mixing and rely on similar devices . I love the rose pink together with that shade of tomato/mauve… unexpected and lovely. The subtle nap of the suede is lovely also.
Those shoes from Coach are also stunning. I hope your week is going well!

Very odd, my comment is gone. Oh well, again.
I think you explain it very well why these pinks can go together. I still haven’t really grasped this. Both outfits are good, and the Coach shoes are a terrific find.

What a lovely pink look!
I usually buy everything separately and when I come home with it, things magically work together with stuff I already owned. I guess that means that you have a clear preference for certain colours in your head and mind.
