Despite the issues associated with wearing jumpsuits ( getting naked when you pee ) I’ve developed some serious jumpsuit love over the years.
Jumpsuit Love
Here are some of my favourites.
It’s interesting to see how they all have similar shapes, a v-neck and a defined waist. That is a helpful elongating trick if you are a curvy gal.
This jumpsuit was found while shopping for my Etsy Store.
Initially I thought I was going to keep the piece as it is pretty darn sweet but my closet is threatening to explode if I try to squeeze in one more item so it is now for sale here, size M/L.
The fit of jumpsuits is notoriously tricky
, especially in the rise. A twelve hour wedgie isn’t fun. When I spotted this jumpsuit I could tell by the long rise (aka low-crotch-baggy-bum) that the wedgie problem wouldn’t be an issue.
I’ve used a trick to make this oversized jumpsuit fit me better. Can you guess what it is?
It may not look like I’m wearing a belt but I am.
The matching belt with this jumpsuit was a big bonus. Belting this from behind eliminated the bodice volume that made me look like a Sumo wrestling champion. The little bit of waist definition was all I needed. I’ve used this same trick on other dresses like the one below.
You can use the belt trick as long as the piece has belt loops.
My pug spends her free time, also known as her NNNE time, (not napping not eating) time judging my poses and modeling skills.
“Not natural enough! Pull in your stomach! Stand up straight! Smile with your eyes, not your mouth! Don’t you know anything?“
Tough crowd.
Have you ever used this behind-the-back belting technique before? Do you have any tips for getting jumpsuits to fit better?
Jodie had some great tips about the challenges of jumpsuits here.
