Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for their well wishes. I am starting to finally believe that I may have turned a corner and will not require another surgery. I am very hopeful. Fingers crossed!
Now let's get back to some fun frivolous stuff like end of Summer/Fall booties.
I'm a bit of a boot aficionado, my husband just says I'm boot obsessed. He says tomato, I say tomato.
I love boots because I find them a million times more comfortable than any high heel shoes I own. Probably because 90% of the time I buy my boots a size bigger than I need. My boots are like extra wide lazy boy lounger chairs for my feet. Lots of space to move around, stretch out or add some cushioned inserts.
I chose these low heeled boots below because I have decided that I need to be able to walk with ease and give my body a break. Tippy Toe heels are good for 5 minutes. Beyond that I want something that I can wear for hours when I'm tramping around, not worried that I will need to make a martini stop every 30 minutes for foot pain.
I'm really salivating over the handmade brown boots on the upper left and the silvery ones just below here on the right. Both would be classics.
Are you a boot gal? Do you buy them a size larger like me?
I’m getting more hooked when I see pictures of skirts with booties. I got some great thrifted Sportos that are really comfy for walking. I hate to think they might wear out someday. Unfortunately, almost all my boots are black! I’d love to have more colored leather in my closet.
So glad to hear you’re feeling better! I hope your intuition is right and that you won’t have to go back to the hospital.
So glad to hear you’re feeling like the corner has been turned!
Obvs I am boot addicted, but I’d buy them in my size if I could. I hate sweaty feet moving around inside shoes, a snug fit is awesome. I do seem to have funny feet which are between sizes no matter what half size variation I try. They are between a 6.5 and 7 (australian and US sizing) and that is just plain annoying.
I love those red boots with buckles you have pictured there! Totally my style!
I like the idea of low booties, but have never had a pair before. I recently “inherited” a pair from my mother because she said they didn’t have any traction. They are gorgeous but I’m wondering if a fall or two is in my future as I learn why my mom let go of these boots!
I’m so happy to hear you’ve made some recovery from your ordeal! Healing thoughts are still being sent. I adore booties, and love your choices. I wear mine with everything except lingerie. xo
I absolutely LIVE in booties – and have a serious addiction to them. It’s like the comfiest high heel you can wear – plus they make your legs look goooooood!

I’m glad you’re doing better! Every day is a new day and new start.
I’ve kind of been wanting a pair of light-colored booties but then I keep having to remind myself that I don’t really look good in them. I can’t do the whole skirt with bare legs and booties thing, my calves won’t allow it!
Fingers crossed!
I love boots, and am tempted to add another pair to my collection this fall. Definitely shorties like you’ve shown here. I have such a challenge when it comes to fitting taller boots because they don’t go around my ‘athletic’ calves. I never thought to go a size up…
Lovin’ the turquoise boots, the lace cut-out boots, and the suede and fabric boots. I now have a glimmer of excitement for fall and seeing my fringed booties.
Well I have very “manly” calves. Thanks Dad! But now I am just saying “screw it” and wearing the booties anyhow. When the weather changes and gets cooler and I wear them with dark tights you can’t tell as much anyhow.
You are right, every day is a new start : )
I am so happy to hear I am not the only one with larger calves. Half the time my legs don’t fit into tall boots. That is what you get for having a “muscular build” ; ) Hence why most of my tall boots are that lovely stretchy kind, that go on like socks. If you find some like that …buy them! I swear you will take an inch off the width of your calf.
I have special extra tall shiny boots I wear with lingerie ; )
I would tell you “they are SO Adam Ant” but I’m sure you haven’t a clue who that is ; P
Okay…so different when you live in a hot climate year round. Here that extra space is used for socks 8 months out of 12.
I can’t wait to see you in your new skirt and booties!
You def need some more colours in your wardrobe though. Black is classic but black is predictable, and I know that is NOT what you are about.
Love booties…all colors and styles I’m an equal opportunity boot lover! It seems like I always need another pair. Ha! I have problems with taller boots as well because of my calves. Being petite, but muscular makes dressing a challenge sometimes.

I’ve become a boot gal the last couple of years. i always buy so i can wear a pair of crew athletic socks with them for comfort.
I NEED the aqua pair badly!!
I love booties, but alas, only have three pairs (not counting boots)!
I buy them a little bigger, too, because I like inserting insoles and wearing socks or tights.
Suzanne, you crack me up!!!! Your description “extra wide lazy boy lounger chairs for my feet” is just so funny to me, I got a visual and a feel at the same time! I am a TOTAL boot gal and have stomped in them more than any other type of shoe. I also buy them bigger, usually a half size. I could wear any one of the pairs you have shown here. xo
