In case you missed it I’m going to do my first ever vintage show as a vendor at the Toronto Vintage Clothing Show Vintage By Suzanne this weekend Oct 1-2.
Eeek!
I’m
excited
stressed
behind
anxious
nervous
excited.
Ha! Yes I wrote excited twice ; P
Here is one of my favourite pieces I’m taking to the show, what I’m calling the “show stopper”, a stunning velvet 1950’s fit and flare dress with bright delicate embroidered flowers.
There is no way I’d be selling this if it fit me. I cannot do up the back of the dress. {sobbing} But some other lucky tiny gal is going to love this ultra-feminine dress.
Toronto Vintage Clothing Show Vintage By Suzanne
Here are some of the outfits I’ve styled using pieces I will be selling at the show as I would wear them.
I have so many more fantastic vintage pieces that will be looking for new homes this weekend.
I *may* (we’ll see…) not be around too much this week as preparations here are frantic and furious, (just ask my husband!) (did I mention my house looks like a clothing hurricane hit?)
I still need to finish going through my personal collection to see which items I’m willing to part with. This is meant to lighten up my closet…not overwhelm my house. I think I may have missed the memo on that one.
I’m hoping to take few more photos of really special pieces before they go to a new forever home of another vintage lover.
As the show is sold out for vendors, (over 85 vendors!) I’m expecting it to be quite hectic and busy with brisk sales (fingers crossed!). If not, items will eventually show up in my Etsy store once I am able to regroup after the show.
I don’t have the whole experience down to a science like the formidable famous Vix, partying and selling nonstop at vintage shows and festivals for months on end but I’m going to give it my best shot.
If I don’t get a chance to reconnect again this week I’ll see you all on the other side : )
Linking up with Visible Monday, I Will Wear What I Like, Shoe and Tell, Turning Heads Tuesdays,
Whoa!! Very exciting indeed! You’ll be pretty busy from now till then! Hope the show goes great and you sell well–even if it’s hard to see some of the pretties go!
You are selling fabulous pieces! Have fun preparing and attending the show!
I’d love to attend but distance doesn’t permit right now… a fabulous collection here on the blog, Suzanne and I send love and lots of good wishes for a successful, profitable show. xx
Just WOW to all these fab vintage pieces, Suzanne! The black velvet dress is indeed a show-stopper, and oh to have my 24″ waist back again. Best of luck to you, I am sure you’re going to kick ass. Wish I were there! xox

This is truly very exciting, dear Suzanne, wow! Congratulations, your first fair – I mean, that you “sponsor” 🙂 I loved the velvet feminine dress, I would love to be there to buy it. Any chance you sell it to me before the fair? 🙂 And the lovely pair of velvet booties too, as well as many other impressive clothes! I loved everything! As much as you are nervous and anxious now, I am sure all will be great and I send you positive vibes! Please take some pictures, I am eager to see how it goes! Bisous and a lovely week for you!

Wow! Again, you ” have the eye “; so many beautiful items of clothing…. seriously considering visiting my friend in Toronto this weekend…. after all it’s only a short plan ride away 🙂 I wonder how quickly you will sell out and get to go home for some much needed rest 🙂

Suzanne – I am incredibly excited for you! I hope you sell it all. Just remember: Do not buy more than you sell while you’re there. Heh. These outfits are incredible. Wish I could be there…!
How exciting! Best of luck. Beautiful pieces…

Ha! When I saw you in that amazing velvet dress (which I LOVE) my first thought was, why would you ever go and get rid of that one!?! Then I read the sad news… Ugh! The perils of shopping resale – only one of everything – ONE little size! But alas, maybe that’s one of the reasons why we do it, for the rare, few amazing things we can find in our size that we won’t see on everybody else…
I do wish you all the best for the sale! Although, I’m certain I’d have a difficult time leaving with less than I came with! Maybe you’ll find lots of amazing pieces to replace what you sell! 🙂
I desperately need that black kaftan dress thingy in my life but alas, I’d probably only be able to fit it on my thigh.
There are so many lovely items here! I must visit your store. Best of luck with your venture.

Good luck with the show Suzanne! Hope you sell lots, and manage to have some fun as well.
What a fabulous collection of vintage outfits Suzanne! I’m sure it will be a successful event. Pity that beautiful dress is too tight for you. It might fit me and I’d love to come to the show but I’m still in Seattle visiting my daughter and helping in her eco boutique.
All the best!!

Wishing you all the best for the show Suzanne. The collection so far looks amazing and I really yearn to be there. If only…
I can’t wait to hear how it all goes and to see what will surface into your shop. I love all of the styling you’ve done on these outfits and just know that extra panache will help you to sell well. So excited for you!
Good luck!

You did a great job styling these outfits. Really good. Hope you will have a lovely time and sell a lot. Don’t forget to enjoy the experience.
I’m so excited for you, Suzanne! I know you’re going to have a brilliant show and become utterly addicted to the thrill of selling vintage. I wish we weren’t separated by an ocean as I’d love to come and browse your rails (and maybe take that kaftan off your hands!!)
That 1950s dress is a beauty. Are you going to display on a mannequin to attract the customers? It’s a real eye-catcher.
Get this fair under your belt and you’ll be partying like the rest of us between events! Good luck!
PS Not sure if you’ve visited the venue before but some of the UK ones can be a bit dark and it’s hard for customers to see the true glory of your stock. If you haven’t already, pack a lamp and an extension lead just in case. xxx
Arghhh! Blogger ate my comment!
You’ll be brilliant, I know it, You’ve got a great eye for fabulous clothes and a wonderfully warm personality, you first vintage event is going to be an absolute blast and it’s the start of great things.
That dress you’re modelling so beautifully needs to be on a mannequin to attract the customers, who wouldn’t fall for that beauty?
I’d snap that kaftan up in a heartbeat. If only we weren’t separated by an ocean!
Get this fair under your belt and it’ll be plain sailing for then on. You’ll be partying like the best of us! xxx
PS I know you’ve done shows before in your design capacity but just in case I’d advise you to pack a lamp and an extension lead. Sometimes the venues can be quite gloomy and customers aren’t able to see your stock at it’s absolute best. A brightly lit corner can make a massive difference to sales.
These outfits are stunning, you did a great job.A fabulous collection of vintage outfits.Your show is great. There are so many lovely items in your store.
So excited for you! I just wish I could join you, well not as a vendor (way too much work) but at least to support you. Although from looking at all your posts I would have a really difficult time walking away from your booth without purchasing most of what you have. Par just said its a good thing I didn’t go, haha. Can’t wait to hear about it. I think you need to give me a call this week and give me the whole low down.
The buyer of that dress is going to be one lucky lady – it’s gorgeous and I can see why you’re sobbing!
Adore all the stylings – I’d be tempted to buy them all.
Hope the show is a great success.
