5 Must Haves For Fall
I’ve done loads of extensive research, stayed up countless hours late into the night browsing online shopping sites, meditated heavily on the subject and even asked the “great one’s advice” (aka Anna Pugtour)
and finally, after much ado about you know…come up with my 5 must haves for fall list.
A bold statement Teflon barrier coat to ensure negative energy and criticism slips right off your back like the oily garbage it is.
Powerful boots that kick the ass of “age appropriate”.
A hat to trap your creative awesomeness and avoid menopausal brain slippage.
I swear my brain was there a minute ago!
An, “Oops, I did it again” chill pill for those moments you walk into a room and can’t remember why you went in there in the first place.
Nevermind. I can start on a totally new task now.
Or take a nap.
A scarf that catches errant crumbs while you’re eating in the car or in front of the computer.
When you find the crumbs later in the day they are a free snack with zero calories! True story.
Which of Fall’s must-have pieces is the one you’re most looking forward to adding to your wardrobe this fall?

Give Zoe a massive cuddle from me. xxx

Well you of all people should know…if I kept everything I like that looks good on me I’d have no where to sleep or keep my food cold. Also, I should mention that I have another one very similar but in brown that fits me better which I have yet to feature on the blog ; P

Nearly choked on my tea when I read that line! So funny, yet such great advice.
And the purple velvet coat, plus everything else in the post is gorgeous for fall.

I’ve been all about the velvet for years now, so you can imagine my excitement when the rest of the world came on board with the idea.

Truly great advice, Suzanne. I love those butt-kicking boots and crumb-catching scarf. How did you know I get two meals from one blueberry muffin? You and Zoe are looking fab, and thanks for linking up, xox

Thank the Lord for your fashionista files! Velvet abounds by the looks of things, which is blooming marvellous as I’ve just de-mothed mine. And those cream boots are not unlike a pair that are loitering in the back of my closet currently. Am a bit lacking in the Pug department so will have to dream up some other chill pill substitute – any other suggestions? And hey, that crumb strewn scarf was surely my idea? I usually save it all up for afternoon tea-break at work.
Tis grand to have you doling out such fine and witty advice!

Oh, my God! That Zoe picture slays me. I can’t stop laughing.
The New York Times just published a big column on older women and how they should/shouldn’t dress. Everyone likes to discuss this issue. BTW, I was thrifting yesterday and saw an amazing long dress that you would go gaga over. If we lived closer, I’d drag you to the store.
Shybiker says
Oops… after writing this, I saw your tweet about the NYT article so you’ve already read it. You’re on the ball!
suzanne carillo says
What a shame! Although…I think I might have that more than handled on my end already ; P

You are amazing!!! I definitely want the hat on my list but only if it can come with maybe half of your creativity, and any help with the menopausal brain slippage is a
Must Have.
You and Zoe are magazine worrhy material.

What?! Zero calories for leftovers on my clothes? That does it: I’m only going to eat one chip and dump the rest on my outfit. It won’t be difficult. Hahaha!!
Too many fabulous outfits here. Velvet – I get lost in that stuff too. And that dress, it’s pretty amazing on you. It must be hard to let things go. I don’t know how you decide! Anna Pugtour cracks me up!!
dan says
Hurray for the huge scarf which catches errant crumbs! ! I need one right now… 🙂

A crumb catcher scarf, definitely.
Maybe in a faux fur so all debris sticks and is instantly concealed.
(My friend uses her boobs for this purpose….similar thing, but less furry! :oP)
A fun post Suzanne…thank you.

Love your little pug. I have a bearded collie who doubles as both crumb catcher AND chill pill.

When I saw the title of your post, I was a bit worried, thinking you had gone over to the dark side, but these are definitely very important things that every woman should have in her closet, especially the teflon coat. I LOOOVE the plum velvet one (I sold my blue velvet one).
I need a warm pug to act as a chill pill.
Anna says
I need that plum coat in my life, right now! <3

I’ll take one of each, please! 🙂 LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the boots. Although they would merely be “looking boots” for me as I couldn’t even take one step in them with my messed up ankle. But they are so cool, I’d love to stare at them whenever I walk into a room and don’t remember why I went there in the first place… 😉

Teflon barrier coat, in a lush mohair or velvet!
Kick ass boots, yes, indeed, i am in the city and I NEED them.
I adore that coat, and want those boots,
and that velvet dress, i am guessing it is silk velvet, but the luscious drape of it. YUM! POW ZAP!
Why aren’t you syndicated.
Anna has it it absolutely, right, Woof!
