Choosing the right accessories for an outfit is key to showcasing your personal style.
I started out with 3 plain pieces…a pencil skirt, a purple blouse and purple suede pumps.
I pumped it up a bit with a wide belt, statement bracelet and large leopard bag.
The shoes have been played up with the addition of nylon ankle socks in a matching color.
A little side note on the socks and sandals or socks and shoes debate, personally I love it. It means you can change up all of the shoes in your closet simply by adding some socks. Also, I am less likely to get blisters when I'm wearing my heels. Be wary though, if you are short they can visually cut you off at the ankle. I wouldn't be doing this look with flats for example. Sheer socks are a good way to avoid visually sectioning your body.
If you try this look and can only picture yourself an Italian Granny shuffling along as she pulls her shopping trolley behind her, don't wear it. You need a certain confidence to carry this off.
Adding a denim blazer and a multi strand necklace brings the attention to the neck and face and will create a narrower silhouette.
Keeping my hair pulled back makes it polished and sophisticated.

cute! love the purple on you
To me socks don’t necessarily section the leg, if they are carefully cut at the thinnest point of the ankle, no lower and no higher.
I would not discourage wearing these even for shorter girls, or in flats. Because socks can be a nice anklet, a focus point, I don’t see why always ever going barefeet, as they can add a bit of comfort and style.
