Well here is the first fashion post of myself post surgery.
There were definitely times when I wondered if I'd ever be well enough to want to take photos of myself again.
Although I'm not 100% – not quite 80% yet, I'm still hopeful that I will eventually get better.
The last couple of days have been tough. I discovered that the surgery did not get rid of the debilitating monthly cramps I had prior the surgery. This is particularly depressing since that is the whole reason I decided to have surgery in the first place. It makes me want to bang my head against the wall…I won't because I might end up back in the ER.
On a happier note (how do I segue into a fashion post now?) I can wear my clothes again so that is a relief. For 3 weeks it has been either PJs or Robert's sweat pants 24/7.
I can see the weight I dropped now. This is NOT the way to lose weight people. Just saying.
My feet are the Mariah Carey of feet. Over-sensitive demanding divas. Nothing is ever good enough for them. These shoes just might be the chilled-out, swaggy cool, let's-have-some-fun, smiling Nick Cannon for my Mariah feet.
I got them when we were in NYC on our little trip before the surgery. Initially I wanted to buy the silver booties from the Anthro website but they were only on-line and it's too risky to buy footware when you have Mariah feet and can't try them on first or return them with ease from Canada.
I'm delighted Robert convinced me to get these silvery delights because they feel a little magical. Like wearing stars on my feet.
Do you have any clothing or shoes that make you feel magical?

YAY to actual clothes! Yay to fedoras and sweatshirts with pugs and KICKASS shoes that are like wearing stars on your feet and most of all, YAY to feeling ALMOST 80% better/more yourself. You look smashing.
You’re back!! Even if you’re not feeling 100% yourself yet, I can tell you’re doing a lot better! Your shoes are amazing!! I totally have few pairs of shoes that jut make me feel happy and want to stare at my feet all day long.
So good to see you again Suzanne. Love that hat and especially those silver kicks. They are just the right amount of pointy goodness. I have diva feet too, but I don’t listen. I shove them into the high heels and tell them to deal with it. Sounds abusive I know, but I had to take charge of them. Such whiners. 🙂 xo
Comfy funky & cool! Love this!

Suzanne dear-I am so happy to see you ‘back in the fashion saddle’ once again!
You are looking well, very well, though only at 80ish percent.
You are strong and you made it through hospital hell and back. Those
are some magical shoes-for sure!
Welcome back gorgeous!
xx, Heather
Unfortunate about your surgery, I hope it works out for you. As for your outfit, it’s perfect. What a cute shirt to present as your return to blogging. Great shoes too.
Good news! They didn’t cut out your “pretty” or nick your “beautiful”! So sorry you are still feeling bad sometimes, but SOOO happy to see you out and about and looking spunky. You are quite right, the brogues are wonderful on your diva-feet.
Very cute, and happily there’s no cure for that. Aren’t you glad?
Happy to see your face again!
Okay Ann…since you are hopefully soon going to be the Momma of a little baby pug soon I will tell you that my sweater is a Frenchie…a French Bulldog. Super cute, very hard to come by in a shelter and around $1300 or more from a breeder.
Oh, you look dreamy, so glad you’re vertical and gorgeous and in photos again. Eighty percent sounds darned good and here’s to 20 percent more.
On to the details: those shoes? Absolutely fit for a diva. Excellent choice. Clothes that make me feel magical? Most evening gowns make me feel that way, but I also have a magic wand O made me, and that is a great assist device which I carry from time to time. And it’s good for thwacking things.
I think my Dr. wrote a prescription for these shoes : )
Thanks Tamera : ) I have to admit my recovery is a whole lot slower than I’d like.
Thanks Rebecca : )
Thanks Alice. Yeah…nothing like doing an surgery for…nothing. Ah well, what can you do?
Thanks Sue. Taking off my PJs was a big deal LOL
Thanks hair twin ; P
Thanks Shannon. After seeing that you were in hospital for 4 months it made me feel like I was such a baby.
Wow…you are a real drill sergeant with your feet : ) with the face of an angel.
Thanks : )
I need all the pep I can get : )
Thanks Heather.
I really love this sweater! We only have one left at my store so it is super popular…
I hope your recovery is quick and you’ll be at 100% ASAP!

Thanks Zalina : )

I need to start carrying something for thwacking things. Must add that to shopping list…
When I bought this it was the last one there.
I’m sorry to hear the surgery didn’t go as well as you had hoped :(. you never know though, it’s still so soon after, there’s still hope for things to change! and you look adorable… I saw that sweater and it took everything in my power not to get it…

Lady à la Mode
Glad to hear you’re on the mend!!
Cute outfit–you look really great considering all you’ve been through. And CRAP on the surgery not fixing the problem of cramping!! Totally SUCKS!!
I also have Mariah feet–gotta try them on first. Those shoes are FANTASTIC!!
So nice to see you on your feet again, pug shirt and all! Maybe the cramps will ease up as you heal? I hope so.
The shoes are great! And if they’re comfy, so much the better. I need comfy shoes, although sometimes the uncomfy ones can feel magical if all you have to do is walk into a bar, sit down, cross your legs and order a Pernod.
So good to see you back. I’m sorry you aren’t feeling quite 80% but you look 100% if that helps. And how annoying that the pains are still there. I hate the medical profession to bits with their promises and solutions and general wrongness anyway. Those shoes are magnificent. Wishing you all the best!!
: ) I could really see you in this sweater.
You said it…SUCKS! Trying to keep a positive spin on things though.
I’m skeptical that the cramps will get better with time. I plan on going back on the pill without breaking so I won’t have that issue. We’ll see how it goes.
Agree about the walking into the bar and sitting down to order a drink. I so need to do that.
Those shoes are definitely magical and I just adore that sweater!
Couldn’t agree more about the broken promises in the medical profession. I pretty much don’t have a shred of confidence in them anymore.
Thanks for the well wishes : ) I hope you got some free shoes!
First of all–YOU’RE LOOKING GOOD GIRL!! 🙂 After reading your horror stories, this doesn’t look like the girl I was reading about!!
It’s a miracle and I am praying you’ll be 100% sooner than you think!!
From top to bottom:
the fedora is adorable – suits you!!
the top is cute – matches your pug
the jeans are … well … jeans
the shoes are magical – love them.
Life is good … when you’re healthy!!
<3 carmen
I adore your shoes. And I think your outfit is cool. Way to go girl. Hope that the road of feeling better will continue to go upwards.

Suzanne, it’s so good to see you out and about. Wish I could say I looked this good at 80%. And, yes, those shoes do speak magic, as well as happiness, I would be dancing right down the street. I do have a pair of shoes (turquoise high heels) that kind of do the same for me.
You’ve got that right. Life is SO much better when you are healthy enough to enjoy it.
Thanks so much Greetje : )
Thanks Trina and you do look this good at 80%. I’m always looking at your runner’s body thinking how great you look and how I can’t wait to start working out again.
Thank you soooooooo much for joining me in this Blog hop adventure, dear Suzanne.
Glorious t- shirt, and you.
have a fabulous weekend.

Glad to see you back and sporting a sassy look to boot with those distressed jeans and magical metallic brogues! That must be frustrating about the cramps remaining. Take it easy and hope you get to 100% soon x
Thanks for hosting : )
