One of the reasons I love consignment stores is because you never know what you are going to find. Unusual unique pieces like this Kate Spade skirt.
I was attracted to it because of the beautiful embroidered flower overlay.
I wore this out last week for a day out on the town that included lunch at a French cafe (j'adore les petits choux!), vintage shopping, drinks and supper out and then a play. Talk about a great day.
What do you think of the little bug brooch on the neck?
I bet you can't guess my favourite thing about this outfit.
It is super fast and easy to take off.
Just in case I need
an emergency massage
an emergency bath
an emergency quickie (ha ha! right)
an emergency naked sprint around the house
to try on clothes.
Nothing worse than getting in a dressing room and struggling with six layers of clothes and countless zippers, buttons and fasteners.
It is bad enough with a large coat, scarf, gloves and bag.
I feel like I need a sherpa to shop.

oh it’s a gorgeous skirt! and I do like the brooch on the neck (I may try this, might be tricky on my stubby neck haha!) I am my children’s sherpa when they shop, I find a stiff drink helps! x x x

Suzanne you did it again, so impress with your skirts lately!
This skirt is a work of art!
The brooch! is this cute or what? i had a vintage bug brooch somewhere, wonder if i still have it?
I find that a skirt, leggings and top are the best outfit to shop with –
Have a great day Suzanne!

Gorgeous find and I love it paired with leopard. When it comes to shopping, I do 99% online. If I am at the store, I like to wear jeans and a top so I can try on shirts/jackets out front if I wanted to. This works really nicely when I don’t want to stand in line for a dressing room.

Hi there! Happy New Year!
You look gorgeous in this outfit. The skirt is beautiful and such a find. I really like your hair..inspires me as I attempt a “grow” out.

Cute outfit! I too find that it is in consignment stores that I find the more uniquely designed clothing! The bug brooch is the perfect little accent for the flowers on the skirt. Did you plan that? When I shop for clothing, I do better with a button up top. My hair gets all crazy looking if I pull on/off a small necked tee.
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
Wow, what a find. Perfect ensemble for lunching at a French cafe. Love your leopard bag with this.

Hahaha, this was a funny post. And yes, I carefully select my outfit if I want to try some clothes. In my case however, 9 out of 10 times I am not allowed to try on any more clothes. So I dress myself the opposite way. Doesn’t help though.

Oh sorry… and your outfit looks perfect. As well the skirt as the bag as the brooch. And the black “canvas” underneath.

I can’t stop thinking about how fabulous your day was! (esp as I lay around watching bad TV and recovering). Srsly, that is one fab skirt – great shopping. xo

Sharp, chic, immensely stylish ensemble. You’re a lucky lady, turtlenecks look awesome on you! They don’t love everyone equally, but clearly they have a thing for you! 🙂

So hard to find good clothes to wear clothes shopping….which might be part of the reason most of my shopping is done online! But I think basics like jeans and a solid color top is good, so you can get a good idea of separates if needed.
This outfit is adorable. I like the skirt but my favorite part is the brooch. It is those little touches that always make me love your style!

Gorgeous colors and patterns in the skirt! It’s fantastic!

If I’m seriously clothes shopping, a shirtdress, tights or leggings, and slip on shoes are my way to go! I just try on pants over leggings or tights, and a dress with a couple buttons gives a wide enough neck that I can get in on and off without turning my hair into a disaster (it’s disaster prone).

The embroidery is gorgeous and how convenient that it’s easy off if the chance for an impromptu quickie comes up! The brooch I love, because I’ve been really getting into brooches lately. Well done, my friend.

You look fab!! What a unique skirt, I love the colours and flowers! Unfortunately, I’ll likely never find one! That’s the trouble with consignment – usually just one-of-a-kind! Lucky you found it!!!
