You may remember this fit and flare dress from way back in September…
“No, I don’t have a trip to Italy planned.
But just in case one should suddenly come up…I will be ready.
One can never be too prepared!
I can see myself riding this on the twisting turning roads of Capri.
Some people dream of vacations…I dream of vacations and what I’ll wear on them.
Fast forward to the present day…
It’s not summer and it’s not Italy but I’m quite delighted I sold myself yet another fit and flare dress by creating a Polyvore set with it.
I think I might be slightly confused about how that is supposed to work.
Meh.
(shrugs)
And look!
I got a fun gift in the mail all the way from The Netherlands and the wonderful Greetje. It was a sweet surprise when I complimented Greetje on her wonderful eye pin and then one *magically* showed up in my mail box a few weeks later.
This is for you Greetje!
I am blowing you a kiss Greetje…not kissing your butt! Ha ha!
It’s easy to confuse those two…since you are very tall!
Now let’s talk about my photography assistant, aka the beggar Zoë.
Often when I am taking indoor photos she will be lazily sleeping in her bed just under my desk and off to the side of the frame.
However, if it should be nearing 13:00 or worse…14:00 she will begin her theatrics smack dab in the middle of whatever it is I’m doing.
As you can clearly see by her emaciated body we are obviously starving the poor girl. It’s a wonder she has the strength to move at all without help.
Her supper time used to be at 18:00, now it has inched up to somewhere between 13:30 and 14:00.
If I don’t give into her demands there is all kinds of whining, jumping, barking and basic sad pug face. She is tenacious, unrelenting and demanding…(hmmm…that reminds me of someone).
I feel I have no choice in the matter but to give into her demands.
Wait till I tell her I’ve hired a cat to replace her as my assistant.
Scratch that idea. I’ve been told cats are even worse divas than Mariah Carey. No blogger’s got time for a Mariah and a Zoë.
If you want to see another cute fit and flare dress of mine check this out. I also wrote why you need and how to choose a fit and flare dress.

Suzanne I could have worn that dress in Sicily yesterday and would have really cut a dash! It’s divine, as is the Vespa. You are über cute in this little number x
We are currently in Malta enjoying the late afternoon sun. Having a wonderful time, and the bonus was finding a vintage clothes shop in Palermo – ooooooh, you would have loved it! New outfit will be revealed on my return x

You look super cute. I’m taking notes on how you winterize dresses Suzanne…..and yep, I’ve got the fleece tights, thank ya dahling.
Would love to see you wearing this dress in Capri!

Oh my gosh, this outfit! Yes! You’re totally ready to go to Italy. I would start by convincing Kyle we need a Vespa NOW so we can practice for when we go to Italy SOON. It makes total sense if you’re delusional and over excitable like I am. What a super fun dress, and the accessories in your outfit board definitely complete the fantasy.

Fabulous dress! And what a great pin! And it’s even more special because Greetje sent it to you!
You’ll have so much fun wearing the dress in the coming months! I can see it looking completely different, depending on the accessories! It’ll be so much fun! 🙂

Hah, our dogs have us trained too, and their waistlines are showing it! Love the exuberant print on that dress, perfect for zipping around on the Vespa!

I adore this dress! You look fabulous in it! I saw this a while back and now I am sad I didn’t end up getting it. Plus, it’s just the perfect thing to wear on Vespa ridding around Italy!

Fit and flare is my favorite, and this one is so pretty. I may be going to Italy to visit my son in the next few years, maybe I’ll have to borrow yours :)! Although I would be a disaster on a Vespa. Our Abby’s dinner time has moved up over the years too. She starts complaining at least two hours before she’s supposed to eat. I usually give in.

That is a stunning print Suzanne. Love how you’ve made it even more graphic by teaming it with black.
Coral and blue is just such a lovely combination.
And the eye brooch is fab and puts me in mind of of a nazar – so it will keep you safe too 🙂
I’m now going to imagine a lovely warm breeze, the sun on my skin, outdoor dining and gelato mmm instead of grey skies and COLD.

What an adorable dress! Also- yes, our dogs are trying to convince us to move up their dinner time too. Such sad little faces…!

Love all the color and the treasure that you received from the wonderful Greetje. Hoping that you get to Italy soon! xoxo

Eye, eye, eye! That cute brooch on that print dress makes me think of a surrealist painting. Love it
And leave it to you to accessorize it with an aqua color Vespa! Brilliant! That’s a fab idea to put a sweater beneath and wear it like a jumper for winter. Great way to get more mileage out of it.
I totally relate to the torture at mealtime. My two cats refuse to learn how to tell time. So even though I feed them regularly at 5pm on the dot, they will jump on my desk and sit right in front of my monitor at 3:30 and yeowl at me as if they haven’t eaten in months. I now have to close the office door to keep them out, so I can get work done. And I won’t even get into the bizarre antics they resort to at 5AM when they want breakfast. But I refuse to to give in, because once I do, I know it’s only a matter of time before these divas come up with a list of demands that would make a rock start blush!

Hi Suzanne,
Cute outfit, I would like it better as a summer or spring outfit, but what the heck why not. If it brings warmth and memories of sunshine and gelatto during the long winter just do it.
I used to have a Vespa when I first moved here, spoiled myself with a 40 anniversary edition in the original color, was a joy to ride, till I took a 10 meter body slide, scooter was totaled, my ex took one look at the scooter one at me and was shocked I was still standing.
I want at least 4 wheels, to me feels more stable (I will be buying me a quad one of these days) I ride them every time I got to Greece is the perfect way to see the islands!
Mwhaaa, I wanna cry, I see Zoe and it reminds me of my poor kitty she is at the vet today getting sterilized:( I am not a crazy pet owner but fell in love with this kitten, I was taking friends to pick up a kitten, I had to make the call and everything because my friends can’t speak any German, the lady on the phone told me there weren’t anymore for sale (or so I understood over the phone, another language is extremely difficult on the phone)
Well we arrive and there she was just strutting across the floor I said is das auch verkauf??? (is that also for sale??? yes my German is that bad, hey it is like my 5th self taught language, whatever)
Anyway the woman picks her up by the scruff puts her in my arms and that was all she wrote. I am glad I took the chance, cause while I am a neat freak and all that she is the perfect cat for me, she just sits there and lets me groom her and doesn’t scratch things or bite a real lap cat. She has filled quite a void in my life. Is amazing how they creep into your hearts.
Gosh now I wanna get on the road in the sunshine and just ride away with Mish Mish (my cat) in the basket!!! hahaha.

Beware the cat! We used to feed ours at 5pm, and they have harassed us up to 4PM, with hunger whingings at 3. They are our bosses and tormentors. We love them.
Your dress is fabulous, ditto the eye pin, and all three pairs of shoes. Have a fabulous Friday, xox

Get over there to Italy right now!! This is THEE outfit for it. And the scooter too. You must go by the Queen Mary II. My old Vespa was that colour. But I was wearing full body bright yellow rain gear…. Pitui! Your dress is fabulous and I remember coveting it the first time you posted. And you got an eye! Awesome! That’s the best pin. Haha, re your Greetje quip. Did she comment yet? She’ll like that.
Your “emaciated” pug cracks me up every time.

Suzanne … this dress is iconically “Italian”; very 50s Naples, and you were spot-on to envisage yourself wearing it on Capri. Go on, give it a treat – book your flight and let it live the dream!
