I'm big on my layering lately. Chilly weather will do that.
I have a dark blue merino wool Gap sweater on under all of this.
Then the jean jacket and leather jacket.
Thank heavens I have the leopard belt giving me back my waist here. With all of the layers I was beginning to look rather puffy.
We were in the Fleuvog store at the Distillery District and the sales gal came up and asked me if these boots were Fluevogs.
I picked them up at TJ Maxx while checking out boots for my girlfriend.
I swear.
I was minding my own business looking for flat brown boots for my girlfriend when these beauties popped into view and forced me to try them on.
(All items but the boots are old) Scarf – Le Chateau, Boots & Boot Socks – TJ Maxx, Gloves – Sears, Jean Skirt – Reitmans, Leopard Belt – consignment, Hat & Sweater – Gap, Jean Jacket – H&M
And the boot socks? Yes…those jumped into my hands too.
I am innocent.
I blame the whole mess on my girlfriend needing new boots. She is the guilty one here.
Right?
Back me up here.
I'm linking up with Anne at Spy Girl for 52 Pickup. Check out everyone else's layers!

You know the same thing happens to me! The boots are fab and so is the whole outfit. It’s the color of these boots that is so unique.

You look stylish but still warm!
Rachel says
I think you were wearing those boots in the picture where you were trying on the gold dress?? If so, I admired them at the time even if they didn’t match that particular dress! And layering is so practical when it’s freezing outside…but it does tend to make us look fluffy!
Vix says
Those boots are awesome, what a great friend to accidentally lead tou to them! x
Tamera the Menopausal Supermodel says
Oh yes those boots are AMAZING!! I definitely would’ve encouraged you to buy them. IF THEY WEREN’T IN MY SIZE!! Then we would’ve been fightig over them!!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
The boots are fabulous but the belted leather jacket with the scarf and hat? You look like a celebrity today.
Beata says
I love these boots and leather jacket! Their fantastic! Kisses Beata

I am with Tamera- if these babies were in size 8.5, I would have distracted you (“look Suzanne, a puppy”) and snuck off with them. Other than that envious thought, I lurve these boots!!

Happiness at Mid Life says
Great outfit! I don’t have too wear as many layers here but I always have a hard time trying to layer without looking too puffy. You look great! And I know you are innocent – it happens to me on the computer all the time. 🙂

I thought those boots were Fluevogs too! I’m sure they were “inspired by”.
I’m loving the brown and blue too. Hmmmmm… what’s brown and blue in my closet…
Thanks for linking up with 52 Pick-me-up. It’s a fun week!
Debbie says
Damn pushy boots!!! I had two pair gang up on me just last week. The belt was a great idea to bring your waist back. I need to belt things more often, for some reason I often don’t think to do that. Pushy or not, I love those boots with the boot socks.

Why? Why? Why?
Why did I have to read this after I had a glass of wine? I want to run out RIGHT NOW to TJ Max and look for those boots.
What is the brand? I am madly, deeply in love.
And insanely jealous.
I love the layers and the leather jacket with…the boots. Ugh, my life feels incomplete without them.

Agreed. The colour sold me.
Suzanne says
You have a keen eye Rachel. Yes I wore these boots out that day as well. They were super lame with the dresses I tried on that day but just perfect with the vintage cape ; )
Suzanne says
I guess I should be thanking her : )
Suzanne says
What size are you? just so I know in case we do get together in real life…I will be prepared and buff up beforehand so I can take you on.
Suzanne says
Thanks Alison. Now if only I could be paid like one. And have a personal assistant. My pug is lame when it comes to getting me tea, or going to the post office for me. In fact all she does is sleep and eat. I think I want to be a personal pug assistant when I grow up.
Suzanne says
I would have been totally distracted. It is scary how well you know me Patti! LOL
Suzanne says
LOL now that I’m looking at it, I do have a bit of an Indian Jones thing going on here : )
Suzanne says
Thanks Aggie : )
Suzanne says
I thought that right away too, “inspired by”.
Suzanne says
What??? Boots are taking over the world. I hope to see you in those bully boots next week on your blog.
Suzanne says
Thanks. I guess you don’t need anything like this where you live. Just a light jacket once in a while.
Suzanne says
ha ha!
Okay…will check who these are made by now… they are called J shoes, made in Thailand and the name of the boot is Dolly.
I wish you luck on your quest : ) Just in case I run across some again here…what is your size? I might be able to help you feel complete again.

Oh, when boots and boot socks take us hostage, of course we HAVE to pay the ransom or pay the consequences. I’m glad they were rescued. This is a great outfit. Indiana Jane. But this is also urban edgy. I love the caramels with the denim, a favourite combo.
Grunge Queen says
Haha, my eyes went right to the boots; from one boot- lover to another: I love them! And your layering look is wonderful. And now you have me missing TO, and the Distillery District. And all the other great TO shopping neighbourhoods. Xo

Those boots are great! Want!! And you look gorgeous. You must indeed be very petite, to be able to still have a waist and all with all that layering. I would look like a Michelin-lady..hahaha!
Jamie "ChatterBlossom" says
You layered beautifully here! I always struggle in this department but very much appreciate it done well as you have certainly done!

I just love when items jump into my hands (glad I’m not the only one that happens to). I’m just wishing those boots were to jump into mine as well, are they incredible or what? Seriously, that entire ensemble of layering is a work of art. I do not really like myself when I’m in such a want mode but you look so chic and stylish and I could actually stay warm in this outfit. Way to be such an awesome and inspiring stylist.
No Fear of Fashion says
I will sure back you up. Been there, done that, was victim.

Perfect boots.

Was sure I already commented on this post, but see it nowhere. Oh well, once again: love the outfit and amazing how you still have a waist after all that layering. I would look like a Michelin woman;-). Love the boots too. Want!
