Well it looks like the only Spring we will be getting around these parts is on my jeans.
Jeans – Anthropologie, Booties – Nine West (consignment), Top – Joe Fresh, Clutch – Anthropologie
It snowed here yesterday and we are expecting more again today.
And yes that is me you hear softly crying in the background while simultaneously stuffing double chocolate chip brownies in my mouth and searching for last minute getaway deals online to somewhere hot.
So far, no luck.
Just when I "think" I've found a decent place I go onto to TripAdvisor and I find 500 reviews saying it was the worst experience of their lives and they are trying to recover by seeing a therapist and taking massive amounts of antibiotics.
Well, maybe not quite that bad, but certainly not something I want to pay money to experience.
There are pros and cons about doing loads of research online.
Not only is the weather crap, we are losing an hour of sleep this weekend.
Oh the humanity!
This is me trying to look for some hope. All I can see is the pointy tips of my consignment store purchase booties.
So I'll throw it out to you.
Have you stayed at any great (but not too pricey) all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean?
Better yet…do you have a super rich Aunt that has a great beachfront guest house somewhere hot, lush and fancy (like the private island owned by Richard Branson)
that I can crash at for a bit while she is away in Switzerland having her 4th face-lift?
I promise not to have any too many parties, will always sometimes (if I remember) wear my bathing suit while in the hot tub and won't drink any of her good liquor cough syrup.

Those jeans! Darling!!! Heres to the end of winter.

I love the jeans! I’m getting ready to make my first pair of jeans. I think my second pair will be floral!!! As a resident of Southern Canada (otherwise known as Montana), I share your dismay over the cold at this time of year!
No Fear of Fashion says
Hahaha, I can imagine you are getting fed up with this weather. I say…emigrate to France. Especially the southern part of France. And your life will be so different. Mind you… Very little estate sales going on there. You might introdue the phenomenon there.
In the meantime you look great in those floral trousers with the sunny yellow shirt and the perfect red boots.

Oh, I feel for you! I detest the cold and the snow.
Loving that yellow top and those fab, floral jeans. You look like Spring personified even if the weather isn’t playing ball!
I can spend hours on Trip Advisor. The bad reviews always seem to be written by absolute nutters who complain about the most trivial stuff – sunbeds, European food or entertainment (which, to me, the lack of them equate to the perfect holiday!)
Hope you find the perfect break!! xxx

I never thought I would get so excited to see a pair of jeans.
You look stunning and a real show stopper in them.
I have never seen the expression: into ombre before how fantastic.
I am much wiser now.
The beach oposite is not quite like that or our house so luxurious, but it is paradise indeed.
Love and sunshine.

Come visit! It’s 78 degrees and sunny. The water’s way too cold for us natives though – only about 68, brrrr! Love those floral jeans.

More snow! no wonder you want to go somewhere hot, sadly I have no rich Aunts although my daughter is staying in her best friends Uncles Villa in Aya Napa in the summer, and I’m not invited, how rude, hehe!! good luck with finding somewhere wonderful and you look Spring beautiful in your floral jeans and jumper x x x

To be fair though… I often feel that online things tend to skew to the negative because people seem way more likely to write things up if they went badly than well. That said, we’ve always had good luck with renting apartments instead of hotels, though that might not be the way to experience an island… I hear Cuba is pretty inexpensive…
Love those boots btw!

I’m with you, this winter is too long. I’m tired of being cold! The flowered pants are a spirit lifter to the eye and cool boots. Love the bag with the sunshine colored top. I did my next post this week in a summer floral dress just because I’m tired to winter also!

Ooo, such a gorgeous print!
The floral jean is an 80’s revival I like. I even had a pair at the time, back in the day when I did actually wear pants….
You are one of few women who genuinely ROCK jeans/pants, honey!
And I’ll ONLY lend you my super rich Aunt’s amazing getaway pad if you have a party every night, go naked the whole time, drink ALL of her booze and puke into the pot plants.

Same here in the Okanagan – a corner of Canada usually spared a winter that wanders on into March. We just got hit with several more inches of snow on top of the many that were on the ground already, so my wardrobe will be the only place with a garden’s worth of blooms around these parts for a good while longer still.
I really like this fun, cheerful causal ensemble, dear gal. That soft shade of yellow is smashing with your hair colour!

Who needs hope when you have pointy booties firstly? Love the spring jeans and that lemon. You can always read between the lines of Tripadvisor reviews and find lazy, grumpy, mean disgruntled people. The people who had fun are too busy off on the next adventure to write something down on Tripadvisor. Take them all with a pinch of salt. I once stayed at this amazing resort in Thailand which was full of negative reviews from people who were basically too lazy to walk the hill it was perched on and walk into town (mmmm, at least a hundred meters) for dinner. Go with your gut. Unfortunately I can make no Caribbean suggestions. For some reason it is the most expensive place to get to from Australia. I’m so excited for you!!!

I can’t believe the weather you’ve been having this year! I’m sure one day we’ll suffer, too, but it’ll be endless rain. Oh, wait, that did happen a few years ago, for more than one year. At least you’ve got gorgeous clothes to wear to brighten your spirits. I love how the floral pattern goes into grayscale at the bottom of the jeans.

Hang in there – spring will be here soon enough or you can just come visit me in CA. I have a spare bedroom but you may have to sleep with a bunch of my clothes on the floor that I somehow jumped out of my closet.
I everything about this outfit. The floral jeans – I can’t wait to see how else you style them. To those rich looking boots!

Oh you are having a hellish winter, aren’t you, and it’s going on for EVER! But at least you are Spring-a-licious in your floral jeans, and the yellow sweater suits you very well (redheads look fabulous in yellow, I have discovered!)
Sorry, I have no Carribbean hideaway to offer you, or recommendations, but I hope you get to book somewhere gorgeous – and cheap! I have read Trip Advisor reviews where people complain about the weather… xxx

Stunning jeans, and you look fantastic in this outfit! Here is to Spring!

I love your pants! To be honest, I love almost everything which has a floral print! You have paired the perfect colours to them and yellow and burgundy are so beautiful together!
p.s. Unfortunately no rich aunt for me!
P.s.2 what a wonderful landscape! I wish I could be there!!

Aw, poor you, I am hearing about the deep freeze from my friends and fam in Ottawa and TO. (I won’t tell you the temperatures here). On the bright side, you do indeed look very Spring-like in your drool-worthy jeans (how I miss Anthro, even though I never really bought there that often). As for getaways, no ideas from me, though my hubs would have many, I’m sure. I’ve found Trioadvisor great for restos in Annecy but totally agree with your assessment of online research in general. When I was pregnant, I stayed far away from the Google Gods. Too much info and too many opinions can be a very bad thing. It ends up being an exercise in neurosis! Xo

Those are the coolest jeans – great colour combination! Yes, this winter has been a trial to be endured and seriously has me thinking about retiring to a different country, if I can ever retire. Unfortunately I know of no rich people with Caribbean hideaways…

Hahaha, you are such a fun(-ny) writer, Suzanne!
We had snow here (in Seoul) yesterday as well and it is still fricking cold here! So at least for now we are in the same boat. Only soon you will sail of to sunnier destinations. And me too, at a certain moment, luckily.;-)
I love your look and I really, really want those floral jeans!!! They are awesome!

Love, love, love those jeans. At least they’re springy even if the weather isn’t cooperating! I never wear yellow, but you look fab in it so maybe I should give it a shot…
