How To Wear Red Velvet With Animal Prints
I had forgotten about these photos and was delighted to discover them hidden in my massive disorganized “pictures” file.
Jacket – Target (sim on sale), Blouse – Target (very cool ombre blouse on sale), Handbag – Marshals (sim on sale), Belt – consignment, Booties – Nordstrom (much sexier boots), Jeans – TJ Maxx (sim on sale)
As a style blogger even though you take photos of your outfits I often forget what I’ve worn.
Having the blog is a personal style diary. It is fascinating and horrifying to look back through the years to see what I considered stylish in the past.
I only do that when I’m having a good body image day.
I love the richness of the red velvet with the python print and leopard handbag. They work well together because I’ve stuck with rich deep colours. The bold red velvet blazer is the focal point and all the other pieces are just supporting layers of texture and pattern.
Dressing yourself is like decorating a room.
Each room should have one focal point, the area that the eyes are naturally drawn to. If you have too many focal points the eyes become confused and don’t know where to look…
Nuff said.
The blouse and blazer I’d scored last year for the Altazarra for Target release. Since then, Target has packed up their bags and left Canada. I’m a bit sad about that, but they were never like the Target stores I’ve been to in the US. They had limited merchandise, and often many of their shelves were empty. Their prices were much higher than in the States as well.
I’m so glad I didn’t lose this blouse during the warehouse fiasco.
This blazer is chic. It make me feel a bit like Mel Tormé, “The Velvet Fog”, a crooner I learned about thanks to Seinfeld.
Have you ever worn velvet? There is no sensation like it.
Just like George stated,
“I’d drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable.”
Want to see other ways I’ve worn the same blazer? Badass Blogger, and again with jeans and a t-shirt.
