We are on my third instalment of the beige asymmetrical skirt that I thought I’d never like. Here is outfit #1 and outfit #2. It won’t be the last outfit I create with this piece. The possibilities are endless.
Both the skirt and sweater were thrifted at the same store on the same day. It’s a bit like winning the thrifter’s lottery.
Shame my luck runs out when it comes to 649 and Lotto Max. The most I’ve ever won was $20. I try to take comfort in my thrift wins to balance out my lottery losses. It’s the little things in life you know? At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
Neither of these pieces would normally draw me in but I was willing to give them a try, another bonus of thrifting, it opens your eyes to new possibilities. They work perfectly together with my very old boots.
The outfit isn’t fussy but still has a bit of a punch.
I have a feeling my friend Sylvia from 40+Style might really like this.
She is a big fan of asymmetrical and neutrals.
Here we are when I went to visit her in NYC a couple of years ago.
Sylvia did a Style Interview feature on me five years ago. You can see how my style has evolved since then…
This is a quote from the interview that I still firmly believe today,
“Confidence can carry off any outfit. Confidence comes with self acceptance and loving yourself. If you can do that, you can wear almost anything you like, no matter your age.”

Wear Beige Without Blending In 1 Skirt 3 Outfits
As you may have guessed now I happily relinquished two skirts from my wardrobe to make room for this new comfortable, chic, chameleon.
I’ve never had as much success thrifting sweaters as I have this year. Normally it is challenging to find quality sweaters secondhand. Not this year. Each of these sweaters looked like they had barely been worn. The treasures that await you in your nearest thrift store will astound you.
Which outfit was your favourite?
