That's what the gentleman told me when I tried this little vintage plaid blazer on at Cabaret Vintage. And no, he wasn't the salesperson, he was a guy in the store shopping.
I knew even before I tried it on I would like it.
I have a sick sixth sense for that. (say that 10 times fast)
Why couldn't I be good at picking lottery numbers?
Oh no. I am blessed cursed with knowing what'll look good on me when I go into a store.
And it just so happened to fit like a glove.
Aren't the details on the pockets unique?
Everything but the hat and the belt is vintage. The skirt was found at a thrift store, it is Ralph Lauren 1970's. The jacket is listed as 1950's which I found surprising since I thought the silhouette was more 1940's. I don't remember the ages of the boots, bag or gloves. I think they are all around 1940-50's.
I'm not sure about the age of the brooches since both of them were bought at estate sales. I have a feeling they might not be older than 1970.
The next time you see this jacket I'm going to have it styled for a contemporary look. I want to show you how a timeless vintage piece such as this little blazer can look when styled with modern day clothes. You won't believe how different it looks!
And may I just say a quick thank-you to Mr. unknown man that convinced me to buy this little jacket. Thank you sir. You know how to make a gal feel good in her skin.
Have you ever had a complete stranger (not the salesperson) convince you to buy clothing? If so, were you happy you did?
