Hello – Goodbye DIY Painted T-shirt
Why waste time opening your mouth when your t-shirt can communicate for you?
All you need is a t-shirt (striped if you like), acrylic paint and a small paint brush.
I sketched out the size of the lettering on paper just so I had an idea before I painted on the shirt. When you paint with acrylic on fabric it never comes off. You’ve been warned!
Insert a piece of cardboard behind your t-shirt so the paint doesn’t bleed through to the other side. I also pinned it down so the fabric wouldn’t move while I was painting.
Go slowly, you can build up your paint. I was just barely able to see the paint when I first painted the word on. I went back over it several times.
You can wash your new t-shirt like normal.
I took the inspiration for this DIY from this sweater. Writing the words in French would have been cute too.
I wish I had photos of the jean jackets I’ve painted in the past. One had Jim Morrison painted on the inside. I should never have sold it.
