You don't see me wearing many over-sized pieces.
My body is bulky enough on it's own. I don't like to add more folds and bumps.
I made an exception when it came to this sweater and scarf though.
Changing it up with Pretty Women boots and no scarf…that weird white mark on my wrist is where my watch should be.
The reason I normally don't wear an over-sized pieces is because of this profile view…
Which makes me look 8 months pregnant…
with a square box.
BUT…I'm doing what Sylvia suggests…and looking past that. Sylvia has never had a poor body image and doesn't mind adding layers or bulk to her frame. She explained to me that it isn't always necessary to show that I have a female form and it isn't always necessary to show that I have a waist. This is completely contrary to what women with larger breasts know, that the secret to not looking large all over is to always always show their waist. That way people know they aren't huge from the neck down. Wearing a bulk sweater without a waist goes against the grain of my fashion sense.
BUT…
I will admit, I didn't have anyone ask me when I was due.
Whew!
Maybe that is more to do with me just looking like my eggs are well past their due date and have shriveled up and turned to dust.
That took a bit of a dark turn…let's get back on track.
I'm choosing to focus on the streamlined look below the belt instead.
I like the idea if you wear something baggy on top, then the bottom should be more fitted or visa versa.
It is a rare day when you catch me wearing baggy all over. I think it just looks sloppy.
If I'm wearing baggy all over it usually means…
I've gained an extra 10 lbs overnight, have raging PMS, or am super depressed and have spent the entire day eating chips in my PJs binge watching bleak melancholic foreign films on Netflix. Most likely it is all three. It happens. But I don't take photos and post them on my blog when it does.
Shocker!
Another reason why I'm not a fan of wearing baggy clothing all over on a regular basis? Weight can sneak up on you when you're not paying attention. Jeans or more fitted pieces are less forgiving and keep me uncomfortably aware of any weight gain.
This is what it looked like when I wore the whole look on our recent trip to Ottawa and switched out the booties for some good walking boots…one of my best consignment store purchases ever.
Jeggings (old) & Sweater – TJ Maxx, Scarf & Hat – estate sales, Boots – tall boots TJ Maxx, booties – Nordstrom, Cowboy boots – consignment
And one more shot of the alley since it was so cool…
Do you sometimes wear baggy all over? Or are you a fan of balancing out an outfit by doing fitted on either the top or bottom?
