The last time I was thrifting I picked up this midi skirt and this bold bright patchwork patterned cotton maxi skirt.
I think it is meant to be a dress…it has a ruched elastic top.
As a skirt that ruching acts a bit like a girdle that is too large for me. Instead of making my waist smaller it makes it look bigger.

I’m starting to look a bit like an Inca woman…
I’m not one for often wearing dresses that only have a bit of ruching keeping them up. The girls are scared of wardrobe malfunctions.
I realized my handmade floral hat was perfect for this outfit after I got back home.

I walk by this tree daily on my walks with Zoë. If it is too hot for her we will often take a break here in the shade so she can relax and catch her breath.
I sit and ponder all the important things in life.
Or sometimes I just sit and look up at the sky.
A blanket of pink petals. How I wish they would last more than a week.
Like everything in life that is so beautiful it only lasts a very short time.
Or as Robert Frost put it so eloquently in my all time favourite poem,
“Nothing gold can stay.”
