Do you ever think of yourself as a black and white cookie? Two separate sides of the same cookie trying to live in harmony with each other. Ah, how sweet it is! That's me today.
I'm getting ready to sing kumbaya.
Trousers – BCBG, shoes – Nine West, necklace – by me : ) , shirt – Esprit, glasses - Firmoo
Can you see that the pattern on this skirt is little arrows? How cool is that? Also…this isn't a skirt. Fooled ja! It is wide legged trousers. No joke. Super wide leg. I love it! And…it has pockets! WINNING!
This shirt was not supposed to come home with me. When I went shopping out to run errands I was wearing a dress. Everyone knows if you are a "professional" shopper you will never go out wearing a dress because that means you have to take both a top and a bottom into the change room otherwise you look like an indecisive nudist.
How can you tell what that skirt/trouser is really going to look like when you're just standing there with your bra on?
So, smart as I am, I grabbed this shirt quickly on the way into the fitting room thinking there is no way I'd want to buy it. Oh silly, silly me.
Here is a big fat hint for you ladies (and gents)…if you are trying to cut down on your fashion spending, do not, I repeat do not take extra items into the fitting room. You are just asking for trouble. You know me, I like trouble, heck I married trouble, so the top came home with me. Now it is happily living it's new life as the white part of the black and white cookie.

The little arrows on this skirt are adorable!
Isn’t That Charming.
This is so cute, I love the pattern mixing!
I rarely buy things in stores anymore. I never like the tops I try on (take in the most basic tank you can find, trust me) and I always wear dresses. Once I was wearing a dress that is like impossible to unzip/zip and my friend had to come help me back into the dress!!
Anyhow! That’s AWESOME that these are pants. Really they look like a skirt! And I love the print on them.

sometimes it’s good to ask for trouble. case in point, this amazing striped shirt!! also, i adore those pants!!
I love the combination, but have to admit I’m not wild about those pants. I’m not convinced they do anything good for you. Having said that, comfy with pockets is often justification enough.
I love the mix pattern you have going on here. Gorgeous…yes, I agree, proceed to the dressing rooms with caution and only a few items. LOL
Thank you I didn’t know what trouble I was courting taking extra’s in! Although now you mention it the unintentional buy has happened often 🙂
Thanks for linking up with WW – see you next week!
Definitely thought it was a skirt – tricksy! But cool nonetheless. And yay pockets! 🙂
you fabulous Suzanne! i just love those trousers! the print is amazing and the fact that it can pass as a maxi skirt is a plus in my book! 🙂

you are absolutely right! I only take things into the fitting room I am serious about purchasing.
Great post today. You look so great in those wide leg pants, I may try on a pair now. Not sure they will work with my proportions though.

PS Now I am singing Kumbaya My Lord….
Since I love anything striped I’m pretty crazy about this outfit. How could you not have brought that top home with you? It’s perfection!
Been there with the whole zipper thing. In fact I’ve had to be cut out of a skirt. How embarassing is that???
That is why it is good to shop with a girlfriends. In case of fitting room emergencies : )
I forgot you do always wear a dress LOL. You could teach me a thing or two I’m sure.
It is sad that you can’t see these pants in motion. They look amazing. I know they kind of make me look a bit like a large rectangle here, but when I’m walking they float away from me and I look like I’m wearing an Oscar gown or something. Very glamourous in a Katherine Hepburn kind of way.
You mean wide pants : ) yep…they look like a skirt but they are extra wide legged pants.
What a cute outfit! I love the big pants!
Oh my gosh this is perfection! I love the arrows! Totally thought it was a skirt until you said it wasn’t. That’s funny how you ended up with the sweater. Something I would totally do…it’s super cute though! And those shoes!! I LOVE them.

First of all, LOVE your hair and those glasses. Love your whole look!
Very sophisticated ! xxx
Too cute! Great pattern mixing going on here. Love it!
I never seem to take my own advice on this.
Thanks for being the new hostess Kelly : )
I’ve come to realize that everything is better with pockets. They should make coffee mugs with pockets. That way we would have a spot to keep cookies. I think I’m onto something here!
Agreed : )
These shoes are my favourites. They go with everything and are actually comfortable. Something very rare indeed.
Thanks for stopping by Katy : ) And if you love snow…just come to my backyard…I have a ton of it I can give you. Seriously. Take it all away. I can’t stand it.
Thanks Jeannie : )
This is the one time I’m happy to say that my pants are too big for my britches! LOL
Lovely outfit! The hat & glasses combo is awesome. I host a style link party every Monday and would love for you to join! http://fashionsgreatesthits.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-first-ever-my-style-monday/
