Okay…so I've taken some advice from my wonderful readers and tried to style my sparkly shorts from this sad post. Since I'm not scheduled to be at any hot bars in NYC for the next while I'm faced with trying to style this look for my everyday life. I'm not 100% sure I've succeeded. I don't know if I would feel comfortable wearing this look during the day. It still feels awfully blingy (is that a word?) to me. Also I don't want to be one of those people where someone (my mother) points her finger at me and asks me how I could have possibly forgotten to put on trousers and why I'm wearing my sequined underpants on the outside.
Opinions?
I just realized that I should take photos of the outfit that I envisioned when I originally bought these. I need to do that.

Hi Suzanne- I too feel self conscious when wearing sparkle in the daylight but I see others do it and look good, so keep trying. I like the look but it does look a bit more for evening. Maybe a T-shirt- and also darker shoes than the shorts to ground the look. When in doubt a T-shirt of denim element adds casual to a normally evening look.

Thanks Bella! That was quick.
I have actually styled these shorts another way that I’ll have up soon and I think I like it better…with darker shoes as you had suggested. I like your idea about the denim…I hadn’t thought of that.
Thanks for visiting!
