I was rushing around picking up supplies for projects on the weekend and I happened to glance quickly at the Tommy Hilfiger Outlet window. On a Saturday, when it's full on bedlam in an outlet mall I am not prone to making pit stops however this little sequined mini skirt yanked me in by my Peter Pan collar. I've had my eyes on a sequined skirt after seeing Emily wearing a maxi version in the Bachelorette and mini versions on Serena Saga.
This sale skirt was going to test my true shopping grit. I had to stand in line for the fitting room for a good 5-10 minutes behind a huge smelly guy. The fitting rooms looked and smelled like garbage bins. There was a problem because the skirt seemed to have pulls in it, but the clerk said I could get an extra 10% off the 70% it was already reduced by so I went out and elbowed my way into locating a size 4. Thinking the worst of it was over I made my way to stand in line to pay with 20 other people. As I was getting my extra 10% discount rung through a kid in line with his Mom Linda Blair projectile vomited everywhere. Instantantiously a large area in the store cleared and opened up the around the barf like a taped off police scene. The Mother didn't do anything and the poor kid just stood there looking down at his work of art. She didn't even leave. Nope she was more determined than I was to get those Tommy Hilfiger items on sale. I felt bad for the kid. All she said was, "when he drinks too much pop he throws up". Hmmm….might there be a lesson to be learned in there somewhere lady.
I don't do well with smells. Like at all. Perfume bothers me. Puke, well you can imagine. I was breathing thru my mouth and repeating to myself over and over, it's okay, you see nothing, you smell nothing, it smells like spring in here….la la la la la la la la. I was frantically trying to remember my PIN through the waves of nausea that kept hitting me. I think I stopped breathing the last minute while I was waiting for my receipt. I sprinted out of that store and took a gulp of breath. Ah the sweet smell of a Cinnabon…
All of this for a little sequined skirt.
Is this me hitting rock bottom as a shopaholic? Or should I just stick to online shopping?

Hahahaha I am sorry I should not laugh but if it makes you feel better I am oh a bus full of people and after reading your post I just busted out laughing. That mom should have left immediately. Her son was ill, I don’t think it has anything to do with too much pop. And i hate smelly fitting rooms….but the skirt looks awesome, and do you feel like it was worth the wait??? I sure hope so.
Oh my god what?!?! That’s terrible! Who just…leaves their kid to be like that. That’s crazy to me. Sounds like an awful shopping experience – I have no patience for things like that. Love the skirt though – it is really cute!
you are so brave! I can’t believe the puke and long lines and stinky fitting rooms! I mean thrift stores aren’t supposed to be glamorous but come on! Lol, that skirt is so worth it all tho! very pretty 🙂

I LOVE this entire outfit!! Head to Toe! {Your hair is FAB} I would say that the skirt was well worth it after that fiasco! Great score!!
Stopping by from the Casual Friday Link up!
XO
That is a very traumatic shopping story!! But I do believe the skirt looks like it’s worth it. 🙂
I can laugh about it now Bessie : P I will see how much use I get out of that skirt, it was almost worth it for the story in itself. Every time I wear it now I will think about the whole debacle of acquiring it.
It was a little traumatic, much worse for the kid I suspect. I’m just glad I escaped before I too was hurling.
It wasn’t even a thrift store…that is the thing. It was an outlet store in an mall. I now know that outlet store is disgusting. I’ve been in thrift stores that were a million times cleaner than that, sans the puke of course. LOL
I have a crush on your hair. Does it take you long to do it in the morning?
Thanks for popping by Heidi : )
Yay! : )
This story really made me laugh! I think it belongs in a movie.
