This is a BIG thank you to the amazing man that found my wallet on the ground outside a stripmall today. He apparently went into most of the surrounding businesses and asked if there was a Suzanne there. I know this because when I went in to ask if someone had turned in a wallet at the surrounding businesses they all "knew" the guy, had spoken to him, but didn't get his name or number. Unfortunately he didn't venture into the hair salon where I was getting my locks looked after. When I went to pay my stylist and couldn't find my wallet I panicked. Probably my husband panicked more than me, but I still got freaked out since I was sure I had my wallet with me. Seems it must slipped out when I exited the car in my rush not to be late for my hair appointment.
So after calling and alerting my credit card company I was thinking oh, great, now I need to replace all my IDs. Instead, upon arriving home, a full 30 minute drive from the hair salon, there was my wallet tucked inbetween the doors. I couldn't believe it! The guy had driven all that way to my house to take back my wallet! A little note was found that read, " Suzanne, Found your wallet at mall at HWY 10 & QEW – PS get a voicemail. James Moore. "
I am more than a little delighted and super happy that in this day and age someone would go to that length to return a wallet to it's owner. James…you are the reason a person can still believe in the kindness of strangers and goodwill. Thank you thank you thank you James and I hope some day, someone is able to offer you a kind deed in turn. I'll be on the lookout for my opportunity to "pass it on".
WOW…how wonderful!!!
Goodness…I know the panic of losing a wallet…well, in my case, “losing”. I didn’t really lose the wallet but thought I had left it on the counter at a grocery store. After going through all of the trouble with canceling credit cards, closing my checking account, and the dreaded driver’s license replacement…you name it, I had to cancel and/or replace it. Then, about a week later, after having done all of that, I was driving in my car, had to slam on my breaks because someone pulled out of a parking lot without stopping. And, with the force of having to stop so suddenly, it caused my “lost” wallet to come sliding up from under the seat, and landed right at my feet. LOL—all of that hassle for nothing!! So glad the guy returned your wallet—that is almost unheard of in the world we live in now. I’m happier today, knowing your story =)
What a crazy story! I agree…I was super lucky this guy came across it and not someone else.
