I bought my first pair of coated jeans about a month ago. I've been living under a rock apparently because I'd never heard of them before but they've been out for years and almost every company has their own version now. I see that All Saints has a bunch of new colors of these out for Spring this year. They also have them in snake skin!
Coated jeans look like leather but are washable and not as hot to wear as leather. They have a bit of a sheen and since they are often a cotton/polyester/lycra mix they are very comfortable to wear. Like jeggings that look like leather pants. They will apparently age like leather pants too, getting lighter at the seams and the creases.
They have an edge to them and I think are sexier than regular black jeans.
I've paired them here with a leather jacket and boots which is quite rocker but I will also show them styled in a retro vibe (think Grease) next week. I actually have 3 looks so far that I've created with them and the last one is very dressy, reminded me of The Thomas Crown Affair.
So here is the first look…and then stop by next week when I will post the other 2 versions.
Wow…I can see that I sure don't have skinny legs like the model in the first photo! You gotta work what you've got though : )
I've got my Martha Stewart camera filter on this first photo.
