This morning I put my kettle on the stove for some tea…
I've had this tea kettle forever but unfortunately the whistle stopped working a while ago.
I went downstairs and started working away with my itunes retro classic on in the background. About an hour later I smelled a strange smell. I thought, "Hmmmm….that's weird, I don't have anything in the oven." Then I realized I'd left the kettle on the stove on high for the last hour! I dropped everything and ran upstairs. Zoe was hot on my heels wondering what the heck was happening. The whole kettle was black and partially stuck to my glass stove top. The kitchen was full of smoke. Yikes!
Thankfully my house did not burn down, but it sure was close.
