Dress Like A Boss
When I was out thrifting the other day I thought to myself, “What am I going to wear to the next meeting to impress the members of the board?”
I need to dress like a boss!
Once a month all the board members meet and discuss bicker over coffee hot water and doughnuts doggie snacks.
As Zoë and I are the only members on the board, unless you count the half mannequin I keep in a trunk. (I’m not kidding, she is less of an active board member and more of a silent partner. I use her to break any ties in the votes. Zoë claims I’m pulling her strings from behind the scenes, she is paranoid like that. There is one of “those” at every company it seems.)
When the last meeting was called and I showed up wearing this fierce Olsen dress like a boss Zoë knew there would be no additional naps on the agenda.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a lawyer.
I’m serious.
The only reason I wanted to be a lawyer was because I thought it meant I could dress up every day and have enough cash to spend on all the clothes I wanted. I didn’t care about the law, or studying…nothing quite so boring as that! Just what I envisioned it would afford me and the fabulous lifestyle I would have.
The naiveté of youth.
Little did I know at the time that I could have gone out and bought items like this via thrift. No need for an under grad degree and then the additional law degree and the $150,000 in student debt when you can get an awesome designer dress with faux leather details and rule your pug with authority.
What’s that you say?
You call bullshit?
Okay, okay I may have exaggerated a bit. Zoë doesn’t do a damn thing until she is good and ready or there are treats in my hand. Reminds me of someone else in the family…

5 Must Haves For Fall – Top Secret!
5 Must Haves For Fall
I’ve done loads of extensive research, stayed up countless hours late into the night browsing online shopping sites, meditated heavily on the subject and even asked the “great one’s advice” (aka Anna Pugtour)
and finally, after much ado about you know…come up with my 5 must haves for fall list.
A bold statement Teflon barrier coat to ensure negative energy and criticism slips right off your back like the oily garbage it is.

Powerful boots that kick the ass of “age appropriate”.

A hat to trap your creative awesomeness and avoid menopausal brain slippage.
I swear my brain was there a minute ago!

An, “Oops, I did it again” chill pill for those moments you walk into a room and can’t remember why you went in there in the first place.
Nevermind. I can start on a totally new task now.
Or take a nap.

A scarf that catches errant crumbs while you’re eating in the car or in front of the computer.
When you find the crumbs later in the day they are a free snack with zero calories! True story.

Which of Fall’s must-have pieces is the one you’re most looking forward to adding to your wardrobe this fall?
