I thrifted these semi sheer palazzo pants last year.
Style My Palazzo Pants
They have short shorts sewn inside to preserve modesty so I didn’t need to resort to any vintage bloomers.
(Communal sigh of relief)
This outfit has a bit of a 1930s/40’s vibe don’t you think?
Nothing like mixing stripes, florals and polka dots!
Like Iris Apfel says,
“More is more, less is a bore.”
I was out thrifting two days ago and a gal came up to me and said,
“You do this for a living, like me, don’t you?”
I was shocked. How did she know?
When I asked her how she knew she replied,
“Oh I just had to look at you and I knew.”
While she said this she waved her hand up and down my outfit.
Thanks…?
I think…?
For reference I was wearing outfit #3 here with the altered jean jacket on top.
The gal that spoke to me was wearing a very cool 1980s shift dress. It’s not often you see someone making a 1980s dress look cool but she did.
Isn’t that what great style is all about? Taking a piece and somehow managing to make it look like it was designed for you?
That’s a skill she has undoubtably mastered.
Turns out she has a bulk clothing partner so she only shops thrift for her personal wardrobe. For her Etsy shop she gets all of her clothing for free and then shares a percentage of her sales with her supplier. I understand why you don’t want to pay $18 for a dress when you can get it for free.
She was kind enough to show me some of the pieces she scouted before me. I snatched up one amazing 1970s dress with oversized angel sleeves she’d picked out. It’s amazing!
I’m so glad that the 70’s weren’t her thing.
I’ve created a couple more outfits with these fun floral easy-to-wear palazzo pants which I’ll be sharing soon.
If I fit into that groovy 70’s maxi I’ll be sharing that as well.
It’s times like this I could really use some help with that dang back zipper that seems to be on every piece of vintage I own.
The pug is smart but she isn’t ambidextrous enough.
Her overwhelming cuteness makes up for her lack of dexterity.
Here is another couple of ways I’ve styled some palazzo pants in the past… How To Style Palazzo Pants Poorly And Well, Vintage Palazzo And Cigarette Pants Styled
Another blogger that I love Theresa also recently styled her gorgeous 1940s vintage palazzo pants with some flair.
Do you own any palazzo pants? Do you like them?
