Shoes Or Booties – 3 Tips To Choose The Right Footwear
I stumbled across both of these pairs a couple of months ago when my sister was visiting and forced me to go shopping at TJ Maxx. My sister is cruel like that.
TJ Maxx often has a very large shoe and boot selection. If there are lots of styles I like I will often buy multiple pairs with the caveat that I keep only one pair after trying them out at home and return the others. This also allows me to judge which are more comfortable and try them out with other pieces from my wardrobe.
This works out most some of the time.
Truth be told, I have been known to keep more than one pair sometimes.
Shhh. Keep that info under your hat. No one but you and I need to know about my crack shoe addiction.
Let’s start with these embellished lovelies by Sam Edelman.
Cute, elongating, with a don’t-walk-out-of-them ankle strap and reasonable-ish heel height.
Now let’s check out the tapestry bootie option…
Gorgeous colours, possibly more practical due to Ontario weather, with a higher block heel.
I think Zoë likes them. She is eyeing them up as a midnight chew toy.
Back to the shoes.
Zoë isn’t so sure. Do they taste like chicken dipped in beef stuffed with pork?
Which to choose?
Zoë has had enough of this fash-un BS.
She is doing what we all should do when faced with such a arduous decision…
Take a nap.
Which to choose? The shoes or booties?
“BOTH!”
I hear you screaming.
That’s me laughing…not my husband or pug.
We all know there is not enough room at The Shoe Inn for both.
So which pair did I choose?
Shoes or Booties – 3 Tips To Choose The Right Pair Of Footwear
- Check the store’s return policy. Buying from a store that allows 10 or 30 day returns means you can try them out at home first. I used to walk a kilometre on my treadmill with the shoes to see if they were going to truly be comfortable to walk in. Two of the large thrift store chains I shop at have a seven day exchange policy.
- See how many outfits you can create with the footwear. They should work seamlessly with the clothing you already have.
- Avoid purchasing if they resemble something you already own.
Here is a hint…as to which I chose to keep…I already own a pair of tapestry booties. Let me refresh your memory…
If you guessed that I kept the shoes … congratulations!
You just won a free subscription to my blog.
Ha ha!
Which pair would you have kept?
