This was the start of the kimono obsession, a Polyvore set I created quite a while ago…
I blame the entire obsession on this photo.
For an item like this, quite trendy, I couldn't see myself shelling out the $190 they originally wanted for the one I fell in love with. Instead I managed to pick up this one for $19 from TJ Maxx and decided to alter it.
Granted it isn't silk, but polyester. That is okay. I was less worried ruining the fabric by stitching on all the fringe and doodads.
I added on some velvet ribbon, the fringe and the pom pom fringe on the sleeves.
Jeans, Kimono – TJ Maxx, Booties – Nordstrom Off The Rack, Belt, Sequin Top & Bag – Consignment or Thrift, Watch- JORD, bracelet – handmade
I stuck with my original idea of little booties and sequins.
The handbag and belt are from consignment stores.
The amazing sunglasses are borrowed from my husband's stash. He is going to freak when he sees me wearing these. He only buys high end sunglasses. Mine are all $15 versions. Don't worry honey! I put them right back where I found them when I was done with them : )
If you haven't entered my give-away yet for the JORD watch similar to the one I'm wearing here there is still time. I make the draw Monday April 28th.
This is kimono styling #2.
This was my #1…
