Here is how my new office is coming together…
These are needlepoint done by my Great Grandma.
And here I am enjoying my new office and my new DIY faux fur collar.
I bought the collar plain and then stiched on the vintage brooches and ribbon. I wore it straight here but I like it better when the ribbon is off to one side. I left one of the brooches only pinned on so that I can pin the piece directly to my top so that it stays in place.
And yes…I got almost everything in the office at Estate sales and I layed that flooring by myself.
Now you know why I wanted that couch so badly.
The other side of the office is totally modern. I want to show you more when the chair I've ordered comes in.
I still need to find a better light fixture as well. I hate the horrible broken ceiling fan we have right now. I will need an electrician for that though.
After working out of our unfinished basement for years it is so wonderful to have some walls.
I have kept my larger office for crafting still in the basement since I require so much space. In the meantime I can enjoy some sunlight during the day upstairs.
Do you have a home office?
Did you decorate it yourself?
Have you added anything special that really makes it unique unto you?

What a stunning space! I think our tastes in home furnishings are very similar, piles of old luggage (when Jon doesn’t turn them into Boomboxes!), family pieces, empty Rococo frames and austere wood floors. I’m not surprised you needed that sofa, just as well we live on different continents, I’d have fought you for it!
I made some collars similar for presents last year, they are so cosy but so glam! x

Love your DIY collar and they way you styled it with the pink sweater and the skirt!!
I used to craft in our basement in the old house. Now that we are empty nesters I commandeered a bedroom in the new house as my Craft Palace.
It’s choclk full of STUFF. Neccessary STUFF!!

I do kind of have a home office. What I LOVE is my 1950s desk I got for free (sings the word). You’ve given me a germ of an idea to photograph my workspace for a New Year’s post.

I’m speechless! It looks like you’re ready to shoot Anthropologie catalog in there! Wow! It’s like something out of a fantasy! Incredible space!

I just love it! It’s looks so cozy. I wouldn’t want to leave.
I do have a home office and I try to make myself work in there but I just prefer my bedroom. Maybe if I had an office as swanky and cool looking as yours, I would want to spend more time in it!

Oh Man! This is a fabulous space…I love it! And the settee is one of a kind jaw droppingly beautiful. Can’t wait to see the other half. I love modern mixed with vintage. My creative space is a corner of the dining room. I’m still just figuring out how much I want to have out on display. It is used daily as a dining space after all. I admit, home decor is a passion of mine, or at least to be when we owned our own home. Now look at you, laying your own flooring! Bravo!! By the sounds my husband made while laying flooring in a previous home, it’s not an easy task, LOL.

Your office looks fabulous! This couch is a beauty, great space for taking your pictures. I like mixing vintage with modern. We have done this on our house too. The frames and flooring look good. You did a great job! We have an office in one bedroom, I’m going to photograph here when it’s really cold outside.

Suzanne – I know I have said this before but I will say it again..You are a woman of so many talents!!! Layering floors by yourself, finding great pieces at estate sales and having the eye to make it all work. I don’t have a home office or a dinning room (so sad). I live in a very small track home and they created what’s call the a great room basically my downstairs is wide open from kitchen to the living area. I love the open concept but kind of wished I had more space.

Your office is gorgeous! I’m so jealous. I’ve got a messy craft room that I would love to fix up, but I never indulge myself enough (or put in the effort) to really decorate it. I should at least get lots of shelves. You can never go wrong with lots of shelves.

Wow, can I work in your office?! Those pug pics and pug cushion are great! Love your collar. I have some in holland as well. The brooches work well with the collar.
I get to travel and see places. You on the other hand have the stability of living in one place and being able to concentrate on perfecting, completing and beautifying your home bit by bit! Cool too!
