They told me get a Mac…
…you'll have no viruses
…your computer will always be fast
…there will be no down time
…there are no issues with Mac software
…all the products work together seamlessly
…you will never use all the memory
…the RAM works better and faster than a PC
…once you go Mac you will never go back.
I call BULLSH**
Seriously.
This computer isn't even 3 years old yet, and it is acting like a spoiled moody teenager.
I bought the top-of-the-line, fastest, biggest dang Apple and the thing is stalling and freezing on me non-stop. I'm falling asleep waiting for my psychedelic rainbow wheel to stop spinning.
I'm afraid I won't even be able to pull my files off of here fast enough. I have to go and buy a new backup drive tomorrow and then take this piece of garbage into Apple for repair. That is going to play some serious havoc on my blogging. Also I have a feeling I can't just walk into Apple and tell them to repair it. I have to "schedule an appointment". No wonder Apple is red…they are covered in red tape.
So while this computer is not having a hissy fit right now I'm going to quickly try to squeeze in some photos of the other side of my cape that I wore out on Sunday.
I'm still trying to get used to taking some photos in my new office so bare with me while I try to get the lighting working better and not cut off my feet.
Vintage 1960's reversible cape from Cabaret Vintage, Christian Lacroix scarf, sweater – Gap, Jeans – AG, Blue leather jacket – Danier, boots very old, bag Brooks Brothers, glasses – Firmoo
Which side of the cape do you prefer?
Are you PC or Apple person? Reasons? And also any computer problems?
We took in a Christmas market at the Distillery district downtown. Very fun with carolling, mulled wine, decorations and huge beautiful trees.

I can use both since we used to have windows in the computer lab I used to manage, but personally I use a Mac. Macs are what I grew up with, and personally, I’ve never had any virus issues. My laptop I got in 2004 still works (I upgraded about five years ago because I could no longer update things; things had progressed beyond the ability of the computer.) They aren’t perfect. With my first laptop I literally wore out the keyboard and I did need to get more RAM. My current laptop’s camera is broken. But I like it. I think people tend to like what they are familiar with.
Hope your computer gets fixed quickly and cheaply.
Also- Love getting to see the other side of the cape!
Oh man, computer problems are no fun! I don’t know anything about Macs, though I know they have a lot of fans! And I didn’t realize your cape was reversible…
Mine is about the same age, and needed the hard drive replaced a few weeks ago. Thank goodness we’d purchased the extended warranty, got a brand new hard drive and trackpad for $0. New drive has twice the memory. 🙂 Get your machine into the Apple store…they might be able to help you. (That said, no Macs aren’t totally trouble-free either.) Love your plaid cape!
Oh, I cannot pick my favorite cape-side. I’d switch it around all day. Srsly, you look gorgeous with the plaid side showing, it’s memorable and funky. I am a Mac-lover, but they are indeed subject to the hissy fit from time to time. I have never met a tiny microchip that could not bring me to my knees. xox
You look amazing in that cape Suzanne. Love, love your hair.

Gorgeous! I love the peek of leather sleeve beneath it, too!
My computer is an old skool PC, it’s ancient. I dread the day it packs up there’s no way I could cope with a flimsy laptop! x
Ooh, I love your blue leather jacket. I have one a bit like it, both in color and in cut, and I still drooled at yours. I guess that means it was a good purchase! 😀
I am going to go with RED! The plaid looks lovely and classy, but the red is classic and powerful and it really shines with your personality and complexion. I say rock both sides, but I’m still head over heels for the red.
Haha, I never thought of designing an outfit that could go with *both* and switching it around during the day! Patti is brilliant.
RED!!! I love the red side so much…I’m happy you shared the plaid, but I much prefer it peaking through as a lining.
PC in this household…hubs is a computer guru and Mac failed to woo him. I just follow along.
oh dear…the woes of technology. I’m a Mac person but I do think that there’s something unattainable with it. While it works fine for me, keeping up with it every time there’s a new update is tiresome and once they launch new operating systems, you’re almost doomed to have a slow computer. But, I had different problems with PC computers and so I have to resign myself to know I’ll encounter some sort of issue with technology as we continue to advance. C’est la vie.
On another note, I love your holiday shots. You outfit is beautiful too. That plaid cape is stunning!
xo,
nancy
Bloody technology!!!
O, man, this CAPE!!! Love it, both ways! And o, MY, you rock a denim look beautifully! XXX
Amazing look!
Would you like to follow each other?

Yep…that is part of the reason I bought it. Fun to be able to change it up. They were practical back in the 60’s! : )
I need to double check if I got the extended warranty. My fingers are crossed now. This computer cost 3 times more than a PC. I wasn’t expecting it to break down so quickly.
Too funny. I hadn’t thought of that.
I’m not used to laptops either. I have been borrowing my husbands as of late because of the issues I’m having but I’m too used to right clicking etc. I guess I need to get the mouse for it.
So interesting that people are preferring the red. I thought for sure they would shy away from it.
I adore this blue leather jacket. And hey if we both have one that means it’s extra stylish and a brilliant buy! ; )
That is interesting. Most computer geeks rave on and on about Apple. I’m glad not everyone has swallowed the Kool Aid.
I think the best thing about my Mac is the design. It is elegant and beautiful to look at. I had higher expectations for the life of the product though.
I know it is true that with PCs you have other issues. There is no winning it seems.
Yep…technology…definately a love hate relationship.
yikes on computer problems! I hope they get solved soon. I got a Mac laptop last year and haven’t had any problems (fingers crossed). Somehow I have converted to all apple products at home so I can’t really imagine going back to PC.
I am in love with your cape – both sides! And I swear you have the best leather jacket collection!

I love the plaid side…somehow I missed the Sunday post with the red side…sorry! And doesn’t trying to get the indoor lighting right just suck?! It’s driving me crazy in my stupid room with no windows. Who in the hell builds a room with no windows?! I hope you get the computer problems fixed…I’d miss my twin if you weren’t able to blog!

Ah computer Hell–I’m a PC gal myself and they have their own quirks!!
LOVE the plaid side of the cape–I’m a plaid gal at heart and it’s just STUNNING with the blue leather jacket and jeans!!
So fun to read a torontonian blog. Most bloggers seem to be in the southern states. I was at the lowes market for the first time this weekend with my husband, fun:)
So how’s ur Mac now? Hope it is all solved and improved soon! I know how annoying it is to be without a proper functioning computer.
Your cape is fantastic with it’s two sides! Very versatile. I think I had a slight preference for the red side.
