Well I told you we had to go and try on this dress
from Cabaret Vintage once it was ordered in both of our sizes.
Hazel was first to try it on and immediately I knew it was going to her.
The fit and length was perfect.
I tried it on knowing that it would not be coming home with me. That crack is the sound of my heart breaking.
It requires a shorter gold slip underneath and looks much better with the nude legs Hazel has and not my boots and black tights.
I think we can all agree that Hazel won this battle. She is filling out that dress.
This dress is going to be gorgeous while dancing on New Year's Eve, with the tassles swinging.
Hazel also picked up a vintage coat and another little jacket.
I scored a little item too that I tried on last minute. While trying it on a male shopper told me, "It would be a travesty if you don't take that home with you."
Who was I to argue?
It’s a travesty that you couldn’t both have that dress! Hazel looks beautiful, but so do you. But alas, something that unique could only go to one of you…although if you made sure you didn’t both wear it at the same time… 🙂

You both look good. She fills it out hut you look very 20s-esque in it. Can’t wait to see what you picked up instead
You are so gracious, and you are also a knockout in that dress! Hazel will rock in that dress, and you will rock in your red cape.
Holly smokes! The dress is exquisite! I think I would have cried having to walk away from it. Perhaps you could you have worn it for a different occasion.
You both look gorgeous! And like sisters of the best kind! I’m very confident that you have another killer outfit in the works for New Years Eve!
Hi Suzanne!
First tks for you nice comment on my engagement!
I’m leaving a comment for this post and the one before
But first just wanting to tell you i hit the jackpot when i met my future husband! I never thought i would meet such a man, but they say there always a special person for you!
To answer your question about what you never thought you would buy, well my answer is obviously a wedding dress!
I found my wedding dress at the Salvation Army about 2 weeks ago – Vintage home made, no stains, perfect condition and fits me like a glove! Amazing isn’t it?
About your red cape, it’s beauty! i got a cape a while ago and didn’t like it too much, i felt trapped in it, so i got rid of it –
Nice idea to wear your cape with a leather jacket –
About that 20’s dress reproduction! wow! isn’t stunning!
Hazel looks good but do you my dear!
Hugs

I think in the future I could have my arm twisted to purchase a deep green one in the flapper style from Cabaret Vintage. I would have got it for New Year’s but I don’t want to steal any of Hazel’s glory.
I haven’t given up on the idea of a similar dress yet… I have my eyes on this one… http://www.cabaretvintage.com/vintage-style/1920s-style-flapper-dress-the-stevie-in-black/
Hazel will love you for that comment : )
You are right…I am working out a plan for my outfit.
Isn’t that lovely that you met someone later in life.
I cannot wait to see your wedding dress! Unbelievable. You seem to have the best luck thrifting in Montreal.
So when is the wedding set for?
That is interesting about the cape. I did feel it restricted my arm movement a bit when I was driving.
well it also looks great on you…maybe you could borrow it! at least you came home with the coat!!
That dress is freaking gorgeous–and Hazel is ROCKING it!! although you look prertty fab in it, too!!
I can’t wait to see what you got!!
You both look marvelous!
Two beauties! I want to see what you bought!
Both of you look great in this gorgeous dress! Hazel will have all eyes on her on NYE! Can’t wait to see what you purchased! Speaking of shopping..I gave into America’s biggest shopping weekend and put a short halt of the shopping ban. I was almost clean for the whole month!

That dress looks pretty on you. Ok, not with those stockings and boots, but with other stockings and with heels it would be beautiful on you. Too bad you did not buy it, for another occasion e.g.
