7 Ways To Wear A Leather Dress For Fall
What are the obvious signs of Fall? Falling leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, or leather and suede in fashion magazines?
Personally I am a sucker for leather and suede. If you shop thrift there are quite a few really great suede and leather jackets and skirts to be found (I scored two recently!). Leather dresses are much harder to come by.
I adore this thrifted leather dress from Sea of Shoes.
I found this pleather dress about a month ago at Marshalls. The cut really appealed to me, fit and flare, with a sleeve.
I could see wearing this with tights and a striped long sleeve turtleneck in winter.
Here are two other ways I’ve worn leather dresses…
A sheath pleather dress with one of my handmade statement necklaces and some bronze shooties.
A real leather dress with some jeggings and groovy crushed velvet booties.
I had some fun creating some idea leather outfits for fall. Check out those boots!
Would you ever wear a leather/pleather/suede dress?

I am so inspired! I love both leather and faux-leather and these shapely dresses are fabulous.
Any way you can pop down to NYC next week????

I *wish*!
You look fab in your leather and pleather dresses. I love the shape of the black one on you, flirty and fun.
Funnily enough I’m wearing a 1960s suede mini dress today – with a psychedelic ruffled blouse, purple tights and knee high boots – just the thing to wear to plan a funeral…not! xxx
I really feel for you.

I love your leathers and pleathers, Suzanne, but you are evil by showing me those patterned booties! I clicked them both of course. Bwa-ha-ha. They have a similar pair at Nordstrom. I try to steer to the opposite side of the store. Are you going to NY next week? Everyone’s going to NY!
I know…I couldn’t resist adding those booties to my sets. After all, this is all just fantasy. Besides, you could paint booties better than these!
If I win the lottery I’ll be heading down to NYC : )
Love your pleather dress! It looks so good with that fabulous belt and color blocked bag and very chic boots,. Love the inspiration boards, They are so so well done. Suede for al, YUP! I love it!

I could see you wearing each of those outfits Elle.
I was impressed with your range of leather coats when I first met you. Now I will add leather dresses to that impressiveness!
I can’t wear pleather…sweat like a pig!
Love those boots but not the heels 🙂

I’m a bit of a leather hoarder, amongst other things! LOL
I do agree that sometimes pleather is like wearing a big plastic bag. In Canada though, in the middle of winter that can be a good thing.
I’ve seen leather skirts but not dresses. How interesting!
That dress on Sea of Shoes—ahhh, stunning! You have a pretty good collection going yourself! I wouldn’t currently wear one because…sweat. In Michigan, oh yeah. I did have a leather maxi skirt that I thrifted back then, I think I gave it to my sister when we moved.
I would love to stumble across a vintage leather dress like hers. Only maybe 4 inches longer : )
You look great in leather, dear!
I love the black dress. The model flatters you and the combo with belt and boots is sexy and feminine.
Thanks lady! : )
You have a beautiful collection of leather dress. I love your new dress and can’t wait to see how else you style it!

Would love for you to stop by & join TBT Fashion link up.
I think this dress would look great on you. Might be a bit too fashion forward for a bank though ; P
I want one! You just look so COOL in these dresses. Not a look I can pull off, in general. But so gorgeous on you!
I was channeling you yesterday Lana. I had on an olive army vest, sweater, scarf and camo jeans with boots. I thought, yep, this is what Lana would be wearing : )
Adore the look with the orange dress – the colours are fab. I’m not sure I’d wear a leather dress myself… or perhaps I’ve just not found one I liked yet. I do remember when leather came in during the, what, late 90s?, and my mum decided to dress my sisters and I in matching faux leather trousers. I think it’s put me off for life…
You look great in the leather dresses. The shape of the black one looks amazing on you!
Fit and flare is such a flattering shape for everyone I think.
Both dresses fit you very well!
Very nice selection of autumnal clothings and accessories…
I remember the time I lived in Italy well. They are very big connoisseurs of leather.
I love your leather dress – you’re right about the cut, it’s super pretty and really flattering, and anything with sleeves is always a winner in my books. And those boots in the first collage are simply amazing – I think I’m in love!
I agree…most dresses now rarely have sleeves. It is a real treat to find one with sleeves.
Ah… the boots… ; )
I love all these looks ♥♥

Thanks Summer : ) Nice of you to drop by.
You have inspired me to try on a leather skirt or dress when thrifting. And the floral patterned boots? I wish!!!
Hi there Suzanne,
I’m so happy to find your blog! I just splurged on some faux leather pants, and I’ve been looking for outfit inspiration. Love your different looks.

Very stylish. I love these looks. I wear a lot of faux leather pencilskirts.

I would wear one, but it is not easy to find one that fits properly. And I would stay away from black. I think. I have noticed for a while now that black leather near my face is not a good idea. It suits you fine though. Love the dress. What a good buy and you have styled it so well. Just like the two other ones you already have.
Very good buy.

wouuu, you look gorgeous!, and love your ideas about leather for fall, I think you’re going to look Great wearing a turtle-neck under your dress!

I saw these today at DSW and thought of this post. I think they would look fabulous with the leather.

Wow! I LOVE those!
I tend to go for knit dresses, but I do like styles with leather and suede panels or accents. I’m just not sure how all-over leather would work on my body. Now I’m curious to find out though! I like how you styled things in the first outfit with the additional leather bag and boots. The colorful bejeweled belt provides a cool contrast that really shakes things up. I also love the last outfit inspiration board. Very Dolce & Gabbana!

With your figure you look great in everything leather. I prefer the texture of suede. It’s softer on my complexion and looks better with my wrinkles:).
