I got the idea for this post from Lana over at Two Teens and Their Momma. I thought it would make an easy interesting blog post.
And oh yeah…I wore this boho style outfit the other day…and of course Zoë had to be in almost every shot. Diva pug.
4 names people call me other than my real name
-Susan, Suzie or Sue…only people that don’t know me call me this. I don’t like it. Half the time I won’t even know it is me you’re talking to.
-Puglet ( both my husband and myself call each other this and Pig…it is an inside joke to do with our previous pug Mitsou)
-Pig (as explained above)
-Suzie-Q (My Grandma was the only one that really called me this. I miss her!)
4 jobs I’ve had
-concierge & tour guide at a big fancy hotel known for theme suites
-manager of Fabutan tanning salon (and yes I was super tan the whole time!)
-cake decorator ( I was really good too)
-pharmacy technician ( I seriously hated that job)
4 movies I have watched more than once
-Shame
-Babe
-Nightmare Before Christmas
-Milo and Otis
(hmm…one of these things is not like the others! LOL)
4 books I would recommend
-Le Petit Prince
-Big Little Lies
-Perfume (the story of a murderer)
-Watership Down
4 8 places I have lived
-Brescia, Italy
-London, England
-Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
-Montpellier & Nice, France
– Victoria, BC Canada
– Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
– Montreal, Canada
– Pait Lodge, Scotland
4 places I have been
-Costa Rica
-Bahamas, Jamaica, Antigua, Cuba (Caribbean)
-Australia
-Amsterdam, The Netherlands
4 places I would rather be right now
-Paris …eating
-Mt. Maguire, Vancouver Island, East Sooke Park – hiking
-Snorkelling or reading on a beach in the Caribbean
-riding horseback in Costa Rica
4 things I don’t eat
-dairy (I’m so sad! discovered last year I’m lactose intolerant)
-red meat (hate the taste & texture)
-coriander (quit my Thai cooking class because of that)
-octopus, squid or oysters (again I dislike the texture)
4 of my favorite foods
-dark chocolate
-salad & veg (any kind pretty much)
-dessert (that’s a food group right?)
-nuts and seeds
4 tv shows that I’m watching now
-The Americans
-Mad Men
-The Slap
-Better Call Saul
4 things that I’m looking forward to this year
-the blogger meet-up in July in Vancouver (are you coming?)
-the blogger meet-up in Sept in New York (will I see you there?)
-Spring (ummm hello! you were supposed to be here 4 weeks ago!)
-Summer (our winter is ridiculously long again this year)
What are you looking forward to this year?
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy, My Girlish Whims, Turing Heads Tuesday Get Your Pretty On Throw Back Thursday
I’m looking forward to a girls weekend seeing my favorite musician in Texas with my cousins! Hopefully we can make it work!
Oh! And I just finished watching The Slap. I got sucked into it! Watching Bloodline now!
Does that mean you didn’t care for The Slap?
I watched Bloodline and liked it.
Hope your trip turns out!
I did like The Slap! I just ended up watching it all in one week! Haaa!
Our parents gave us names that purposely don’t have nicknames (until they named our sister Elizabeth). Growing up, I always wanted a nickname. I tried to get people to call me Meggie, but it (thankfully) didn’t pan out. My parents and sisters call me Meglets, which I love, and Chris calls me M. It all worked out!
Ha! I love Meglets. It’s like chiclets…only cuter : )
Best pug pic! I too am looking forward to Vancouver, and shopping already b/c I want to look fab for all of you. I’m a full vegetarian and red meat makes me squick, but I try to keep it to myself when eating with others. Wonderful getting to know you a little better. xo
I know…the pressure is ON! LOL Nothing like meeting other bloggers to make you want to really pull out all the stops. You are going to LOVE Talize! I hope we get a chance to visit that thrift store when you are there. It is great.
Great post. Fun to learn more about you. Confession: I’ve seen “Shame” three times… There’s a blogger meetup in NY?!!!
Yay! Someone who likes intense weird films like me : )
Yes…if you click on the link it’ll take you to Sylvia’s page and she is having a blogger meet-up in NY that I plan on going to. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it too!
Fringing, killer boots, bad ass hat, pug…love it all!
Great read. I adore Perfume, both the book and the film adaptation. I can’t imagine a life without cheese – Haloumi, Stilton, Feta, goat’s cheese, Brie…how do you stand it?
I’m never called by my proper name, Victoria, now Dad is a dementia sufferer. He hated anyone to shorten it. xxx
Life without cheese SUCKS! I adored cheeses. Luckily I’ve managed to find some great goat’s cheeses I can eat. They even make cheddar from goat’s cheese now.
It does seem rather strange to think of you as Victoria rather than Vix : )
Great ensemble. Love the fringed bag and getting to know more about you, described with a fabulous sense of humor!
Suzanne
Loved this post. I think we must be on the same wavelength, you mentioned about the Madmen post, and I have been wanting to do a more about me too. I love your little pug! My puppies have a tendency to walk right in front of the camera when the pic is taken.
I am so with you about the Carribean and snorkeling! Would go there in an instant. Would love to get out of the country! Enjoying getting to know more. I am with you on everything but the dairy! Got to have my ice cream.. It is fun learning about you!
The coat and bag are awesome !! Goes great with the boots 🙂
Thank you for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!

Believe me…if I could still eat dairy I would. Especially salted caramel ice cream. It makes me tear up just thinking about it.
Lovely outfit and a great look!
You look won-der-ful, Suzanne! I love everything about this outfit! Begging Zoe is so adorsable too.
I just love your geography – that would be a great series of post, if you haven’t done one yet – how it felt to live in all those places you’ve mentioned. I also worked as a pharmacy tech for a few months – it was my first (and last) job in the US, the rest of the time I had my own businesses and gigs or just enjoy my freedom to do what I want.
I’m still not clear whether I can make it in July, but I will let you know when I know for sure. xxx
Lots of people are hoping to meet you…me included so I really hope you can make it work for the meet-up!
I’ve written a few stories about my overseas adventures over the years on the blog.
When I was making the list of places I’ve been I kept thinking of more. I’m nowhere near my husband though, I think there is only a handful of countries he hasn’t visited.
I agree on coriander and the fishy things. Love your Boho outfit. And your Zoe. And your necklace.
I must commission you to make me one in red. I will contact you about that.
Greetje
Coriander is such a funny herb. People either love it or hate it.
I agree with the no red meat…yuck. I love your hippie look. Very Rachel Zoe.
I love it when I’m not the only person that doesn’t eat meat : )
I always enjoy reading these types of posts to learn more about the person behind the blogger. I have not read any of those books ( I will add to my list) or seen any of those movies. I am so bummed I can’t make it to Vancouver, it sound like such a fun time.

The Little Prince is an absolute MUST to read. I read it in French the first time but I now have an English version as well.
I love these factoids about you, Suzanne. If not for blogging, I don’t think we’d ever have met, unless I stopped you on the street to gush about your style. Reading the list, however, you are definitely someone I’d LOVE to meet if I didn’t already know you. Most sweet wonderful photo with adoring diva pug. You look awesome in boho style.
I agree that it the truly brilliant thing about blogging, meeting unusual people. That is why I’m so delighted we managed to meet.
Blogger-connections are super cool!;-)
Simply fabulous. I love learning more about you! And your Pug is simply adorable. I don’t eat dairy, red meat, gluten, octopus, squid, oysters or slimy crud. People are afraid to have me over for dinner
I can see where that might cause some issues. Even me when I’m eating out now I’m finding it challenging and that is just with the diary and red meat.
Thanks for the shout out! I’m so glad you did this post, because I really enjoyed learning more about you. I think we would get along really well. So impressed with all the place you’ve lived and the traveling you’ve done. I’m SO hoping to be able to come to the meet up in Vancouver – just waiting to see how vacations pan out.
That would be so exciting if you were able to make it! I think it is going to be a blast.
I love all of the shapes and textures in this outfit. Well done! Also, that pug is adorable! Oh my goodness.

Gorgeous outfit, the tan shades and denim look so good with your red hair. And Zoe is adorable!
Always good to find out more about you, though I love to eat dairy, red meat and squid, and coriander is my favourite herb, so we maybe wouldn’t be compatible for food-sharing when we go out for dinner! xxx
That’s okay…more for me! LOL
I loved this post- learnt lots of interesting things about you…how did you find living in LDN? I lived there full time for about 15 yrs and still go back now and again coz our family home is there…I’d like to visit Antigua, I’m lactose intolerant but still chomp on my diary/cheese, hmmm…this year I am looking forward to a lot- living in Berlin over summer and trying again to pick up some German, going for a 4 day hols with my Ma in Spain….Have a gd wkend!
This is fun! I want to do this! What a great way to learn more about you, and I love that it’s broken up into quick lists. Your outfit is so on-point with the current 70s trends, and it is still so “Suzanne”. I’m basically obsessed with tasseled and long, lariat-style necklaces right now, so my eyes immediately went to your necklace.
Also, I grew up to my mom reading me “Le Petit Prince” before bed. Whenever I see the cover illustration, I get nostalgic. And how on earth have you watched Milo and Otis more than once? I am permanently scarred from that film and all others like it. Take, for example, Homeward Bound. My school teachers seemed to think that was a great “Free Day” movie. I would be hysterically ugly crying throughout the whole thing. It was the most embarrassing thing ever. I can’t even think too hard about those movies because I lose control. Animals? All alone? Unloved? I. Can’t. Handle. It.

I always love hearing about the varied and interesting experiences you have had- such as your diverse jobs! Also- I’m now curious about the Perfume (The Story of a Murder). I liked several of the other books you mentioned and I like mysteries so… I’ll see if our library has it!
Wow, you have lived in a lot of cool places! I laughed when I saw the film “Shame” on your list of films watched more than once ( Michael Fassbinder…mmmmmm). I love that you and your husband call each other Puglet.
I am SO looking forward to seeing you in Vancouver and New York!
Love your outfit, Suz. Noticed how I tend to call you Suz? In which the sound of the u is as in pug. Do you mind?
Apart from the hubbie and me, people rarely have a nickname for me. The only ones I recall are An and Babe.
Bought The Americans on DVD with Dutch subtitles. Have not gotten around to watching it yet.
Perfume is a brilliant book. To write in a way that you actually smell the smells!
Squid, oysters and the likes: rubbery and slimy. Yayks.
Always nice to learn some facts and trivia.
