This is NOT what I eat every single day.
In fact I didn't eat this. My husband did. And one extra donut that isn't in the photo.
After having a good lunch of healthy salad he finished it off with 4 Krispy Cream donuts.
Umm…yep. I think that cancelled out that healthy salad and 3 others.
He had a raging bellyache about 30 minutes afterwards.
I, on the other hand, showed some restraint and only ate one Krispy Cream donut and I didn't even like it that much. I found it too sweet. Thank heavens for that since there is still a half a box of donuts in our freezer and my husband is away on business for another two weeks. If they were old fashioned cake donuts I might have been in trouble.
Eating Krispy Creams in our house is not a regular occurrence. In fact I don't think it has happened in close to 10 years.
We were at Costco yesterday and succumbed to the overwhelming glorious smell of fresh made donuts. I don't know why they had a Krispy Cream in Costco but they did and we were sucked in.
Well my husband was. I wanted to walk straight past them.
Well "straight past them" should be defined as me quickly grabbing 2 samples on my way straight past them. I had no plans on picking up a full box of carbs dipped in sugar to take home. The two little bite sized samples would have been sufficed. I would have grabbed a third sample but that seemed greedy to me. Plus the sample girl was glaring at me.
My husband was weaker than me though and they wound up in the cart despite my protests.
When Krispy Creams first came to Canada their flagship store was within walking distance of our house and it wasn't uncommon to see us in there every couple of weeks.
Flash forward 8-10 years, we now live about 10 minutes driving away from the flagship store and I can't remember the last time we were there. I am sure it is over 8 years ago.
I am happy we have more or less given up this bad habit. Once every 8-10 years doesn't count I figure.
How about you? Have you managed to kick any bad eating habits over the years?

At our local Krispy Kreme, they give away free donuts whenever they are making fresh ones, and Angel likes to stop in a get a free one. I won’t eat them even if they are free-they are definitely not my type of donuts. I also only like the old-fashioned homemade kind. I have gotten a lot better about watching what I eat lately–mostly I was forced to because a lot of food started making me sick–so now I’m more careful than I ever was before!

Ohhh I am no fan of donuts! I’ve hated them ever since I was a child. I’m more of a salty craving type of person so kicking fast food to the curb was hard for me. After you don’t have it for awhile you actually stop craving it.

Those KK doughnuts smells so good. I can smell them from the freeway here. I’m like you though, I don’t indulge very often, almost never. They are too sugary and carby for me. Perfect way to get a sugar crash mid-afternoon.
Sorry for your husband but cute post. Love the sound of your granola recipe by the way! Delish!

Love KK donuts and hadn’t had one in years until it was national donut day a couple of weeks ago. We were in Las Vegas and walking distance to a KK so we thought it was a great idea of eat them. The glazed donut gets me every time. Marketing genius on whoever comes up with these days.

Donuts smells so wonderful but I can never actually bring myself to eat one. My inner “bad food” warning bell goes off and I stop myself before one ever touches my lips.

Mmmmm Mennonite Bakery! LOL I’m sure they are a million times better. Good thing the nearest one is about 1.5 hrs away from my house : )

That is a bit sad about the food making you sick. Not fun to have to always watch what you eat. I’m sure you will be healthier for it though.

Okay I need to know your trick for giving up the salty carbs because that is definately my weakness too. I guess not having them in the house is the best bet. I need to go and throw out those packages my husband snuck in the shopping cart. They are taunting me and he is still away for another 10 days. Save me!

I think they need to make a perfume with fresh donut smell. Lots of guys and gals would like it : )
Suzanne says
Wait! They have a day called national donut day???
What is next? National cupcake day? National fruit juice day? National coffee day? That is crazy. We are living in a commercial folks.

I need a bigger alarm security system for my body. Sounds like your security is air tight.
For 1 minute of perceived joy I spend hours with food regret. You’d think I would have learned by now.
