I have a pair of floral pants.
I bought them 2 years ago and figured one pair of floral pants in the closet was more than enough, especially since I'd written a whole blog post on why NOT to wear floral pants.
Be careful what you blog about folks. One day it will come back to bite you in the buttocks.
So naturally when I saw these Mavi jeans on sale
for an unbelievable $8 at TJ Maxx I convinced myself that of course, one pair of patterned floral pants was certainly not enough.
I have to admit that this floral pants *trend* keeps reappearing. Soon it won't be considered a trend anymore.
*Disclaimer*…these shoes. These damn gorgeous BCBG purple suede shoes that I love with all my heart but can only wear for 5 minutes at a time without having serious meds administered have now been lent to my girlfriend who, at the early age of 56, discovered after not being able to wear any kind of heel her whole life, that she can now miraculously dance in them all night long!
It is a miracle folks.
Brought on by continuous compliments on her gorgeous gams in the heels.
So men…yes compliments count and can make women do things they never thought they could.
Necklace was a gift from hubby on one of his trips to Australia made out of native precious stones.
Don't worry though. I have a pair of 2" Nine West purple suede heels that will work just fine.
You just knew I'd have another pair of shoes right?
Where do you sit on the floral/patterned jeans or pants debate? Yay or nay?
I’ve never dared try floral pants, but you look great in both. Maybe I’ll have to try them one day!
This happens to me, too. I initially find a trend unattractive but, over time, it starts appealing to me. Especially as I see more women rocking it.
You look great in floral pants. They add nice pizzazz below the belt which we rarely expect.
I agree with your comment about compliments. Compliments are valuable currency which can influence us in real ways.
I’d probably wear if I found the right pair. Yours are gorgeous and what a great find!!
Its a miracle being able to dance all night long in high shoes. Yes compliments will help push us into things we never thought possible. Now I dance in high heels all the time. The guy is gone but not the shoes.
Dancing all night in heels? Your friend is a better woman than I am! The floral jeans look really good on you, especially with the purple top and shoes, and that amazing necklace. As a trend, they aren’t for me, but that’s because I have yet to find a pair of jeans that fit and/or flatter, so I never wear them. On others, they’re cool!
And who doesn’t like a compliment? They can definitely add to your confidence! xxx
i’m a yay. especially these ones you are wearing!! i love that they are not too over the top!
Wow someone is looking so ready for Spring. Too bad it is in print….but you look abso. great in floral pants!

I will admire the beautiful floral jeans on you! and others! I don’t wear jeans and have 1 pair of pants haha, your shoe paradise is a wonder! isn’t it fab! your friend is stunning too, and yes great gams! I’m learning to be gracious with compliments, I used to get red faced and bumble if I receive them x x x
I love you in jeans and those beauties are no exception. A total bargain and a super fit.
Your friend is a hottie, I bet the pair of you turn heads when you’re out on the town! xxx
Yeah on the flower pants, but you knew that already!
I like floral pants, but I don’t know that I’d ever be confident enough to wear them…I’m not sure they look that great on my shape. I prefer my floral prints up top because I got nothing there…
I will take your closet please. And that necklace.
Very rarely will you hear a nay from me UNLESS it is boring. These are NOT boring–love them–get more. Xoxo
I hear you on the having to eat your words, I swore I’d never wear skinnies because they were unattractive on everyone and they’d never last.
I don’t think I’d make it through the work week without some skinnies!
I love the look of them but am scared to try them. I like the ones you are wearing in both pictures but the gray and black ones would be a good place for me to start. Pattern but not too much going on in colour.
For the most part, I have never found them in a tall enough size to fit me. It’s the same with coloured jeans. I am thinking that if I find the right floral pattern some regular length skinny jeans would come across as cropped on me and that would work. But with my luck they will be cropped length and then they would be capris on me. maybe I should just draw flowers with sharpie pens all over my regular jeans. 😉
You did a beautiful job with this. Great colors! I have only two pairs of floral pants and only one of them has gotten any wear (only wore it once to be exact). I’m trying so hard to make it work. Haha. Floral pants are realllly out of my comfort zone, so I get so much inspiration from bloggers like you who can actually style them!

Yay, floral pants! But that is not what I want to discuss! Well, wait, maybe a little. $7!!!! Such an awesome price! And you are a great friend to lend out your shoes. I am glad your friend can wear them!
But I want to discuss your closet!!! So wonderful! So organized! So jealous!

Heavens with your long lovely legs these would be amazing on you Kristian! Wear them with one of your white button downs for a classic look.
I love those jeans! I think it’s the subdued palette…so pretty. And look at you rockin’ the radiant orchid! I’m so proud of you! So sad about those heels, they are so gorgeous and deserve to dance all night so I’m glad you loaned them to your friend.

Usually by the time I willing to give the “trend” a go that means it’s on its way out. LOL
I do like these because they are tone on tone. Less vibrant and easier to wear I think.
You kept the most exciting thing ; )
I didn’t actually believe my girlfriend until I saw it with my own eyes, but she really can dance all night. I think she might be like Benjamin Button, aging backwards.
I think that is what attracted me to them.
Yep…still very much winter here : (
I need to take better photos of my shoes and boots one day. There have been quite a few additions since that shot was taken.
I used to be like that with compliments too. There is a certain understated class in accepting them I find. I am also much more likely to compliment women or people in the street now too. I used to just think to myself, “wow! they really look great!”, but then they didn’t get to hear it. Now I make sure I actually go up and say something.
Redheads never tell ; )
It is true that they direct your eyes right to them.
You may have a fight on your hands : )
: )
Is that how you choose your outfits? It’s not a bad thought really. Who wants to be boring, predictable?
Yep… how silly and naive we were way back when…LOL
Wow you and I should get together and then I could give you the 2 inches I normally have to roll up on my jeans and you could add them to yours. LOL
I will tell you this…don’t do the sharpie thing Been there…done that and they will run like a river as soon as you wash them. (not that I truly thought you’d go through the hassle…BUT for future reference…).
Use acrylic paint and then throw them in the dryer to set the paint into the fabric first before you wash it. They of course also make fabric paints. I actually used to paint my own jeans WAAAAAY back when. I still even have a pair I think. I should take a photo. I even painted jean jackets and sold them. I kind of wish I still had one of my jean jackets. Ahhhh…this is like a little trip down memory lane now. All thanks to some floral jeans.
This I find surprising. You have such long lovely gams and such an artsy funky style I would have thought they would be super easy for you to work with. They might not be edgy enough for you. Try ripping them up a bit or adding some studs. That might work.
I know right? It would have been a crime if I hadn’t picked them up for that price. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
I am so lucky to have a girlfriend that has the same size feet as me. I can’t tell you what a life saver that has been on more than one occasion. We’ve switched shoes when travelling together if someone gets blisters.
Ah… the closet : ) If you think this looks good you should see my husbands closet! He is much more OCD than I am.
Yes I feel better knowing the shoes will at least get to be seen outside of the house now. : )
Those new jeans are so dreamy and looks perfect paired with purple. I have one pair of floral jeans (though I am not opposed to owning more) but they still freak me out. For me, your new pair is easier for me to wear because it’s only 2 colors when more colors are added than I feel they are too busy.

I used to always wear neutrals, especially black or denim, in trousers and skirts, but now I want colored jeans – and maybe some florals, too. I thought the trend would die out, but I’m not so sure now.
Your outfit looks great – I love the drapey top and the bold necklace to go with those jeans.
How cool that those pumps work so perfectly for your friend!
Your purple ones are very pretty and go well with the outfit here.
I love floral pants and jeans, as I do colored ones, patterned ones and textured ones.
My problem is that I keep jojo-ing with my weight. The first place that that shows is in my waist/belly area. So my pants keep being too tight, too wide, etc.
I wear more skirts, dresses and jeggings nowadays, since those tend to me more flexible (literally) and forgiving for the belly.
Too bad for the pile of gorgeous jeans and pants in my wardrobe:-(
Firstly, great shoes! Secondly, great necklace (especially for being Aussie). And thirdly, great floral jeans. I am so glad to see this post because I thought maybe that my floral jeans were passé, but now you have convinced me they aren’t and I can get them out again. These are beautiful. Love the colour. Make a great neutral for your amazing purples. You’re awesome!
I agree these tone on tone are easier to wear.
I find it so funny that with your bold comical character that you chose to wear neutrals. So happy to hear you are adding in the colour, it is much more suited to you I think.
Ah weight…the bane of our existence. It dictates so many of our wardrobe choices.
I think this is my favourite necklace ever. It is very heavy, but so very cool.
Thanks for pumping me up my friend : )
I say yes of course. Why not? What is against them,? Just need to style it right. As you did (love it).
Would it help if you bring your purple shoes to the cobbler for a stretch? Helps with mine.
And I adore your necklace. Being a necklace lover, that is the first thing I see. I immediately thought : oh goodie that’s a nice one. Even better that it is a present from your husband.
