Apparently you’re not supposed to wear graphic t-shirts after a certain age.
Ha!
Total BS.
On an average day you will find me wearing a graphic t-shirt with jeans around the house.
They are my “at home uniform”.
My persnickty boss has a very strict dress code for work. My clothes must be walk and belly rub friendly.
No…that’s not me getting the belly rub. Ha ha! (Just ask my husband how I hate to have my stomach touched.) That is of course my spoiled pug Zoë.
Pug friendly clothing means something I can toss in the washer and dryer a million times without a second thought. Yes I adore my fancy dresses but I do not like doing laundry and ironing daily. I break out the iron about once a year just to make sure it still works.
To dress up my graphic tee I will often grab a leather jacket and some boots or a blazer and some low heels to make sure I’m not leaving the house looking like a total bum.
I bought this graphic t-shirt when I was visiting Sylvia in New York at a market. It’s not a pug…but a Boston Terrier. I fell in love with the colourful graphic.
Blazer- H&M (I love this version and the price is great), T-shirt (sim that I really love, and they have cat ones too!), Jeans (sim on mega sale), Shoes – Nine West (sim)

Load up on the necklaces, accessories and attitude. And if you happen to have a furry rock star coat and psychedelic leggings go ahead and add them too…just for good measure.
Debbie my hair twin is a pro at rocking graphic tees.
Adding some statement shoes and bold colour really make this outfit stand out for me.
And here is me wearing my BadAss Blogger tee with a plaid pencil skirt, a great transitional outfit.
Here are a few more ideas how to dress up a graphic tee
My biggest tip for how to dress up a graphic tee?
Treat it like any other blouse/shirt in your wardrobe.
Experiment with it. Don’t discount it because it is easy to wash. You’ll be surprised how many items you can pair it with and come off looking casual chic.
Do any of these outfits tempt you?
Do you have an at home uniform?

Well, as we’re the generation that has practically lived our lives in jeans and t-shirts, it would be odd to assume we’d put these items away for good when we reach an arbitrarily chosen age… No, we’re the generation that will rock t-shirts and combat boots when we’re old, (that’s what we’re used to after all) when we’re sulking in the nursing home as only Generation X can. BTW, I have a t-shirt with ‘Bored’ printed on it. I usually wear it to the gym, but there are mornings when I’m so tempted to wear it to work… Might not be a good career move, though, for a freelancer…

Ha! I love that you have a tee with bored printed on it! : P

I adore a graphic tee (just wore Badass Blogger yesterday) and you look fabulous. We are loving servants to our animals, and it’s good we recognize the fact : >

Love your new graphic tee! I do love wearing graphic tees on the weekends and wearing as you did sans the jacket.

I agree — they’re tools in our box. I admire how you and Debbie deploy them. BTW, that pug is adorable!

Looking fabulous a usual! I love graphic tees and have many, even at my advanced age :)! I like to wear them with chambray.

I think you’re younger than me! Ha ha! What does that mean I am???

Loving your look, as wells Melanie’s and Debbie’s; great style, and a bit of attitude– just right! Your tee is so great, I am glad it came from my fair city! looks like a pug to me.. Love it with the H&M blazer and the denim choice is great.
I do have a few, and I agree, there are certain pieces that I wear to death. Mine, too, have to be dog friendly , and I do not iron…( I DO steam)
I love that they can be worn with a jacket and a good pair boots, and be worn anywhere…

Men of all ages live in printed tee shirts so what sexist idiot came out with that ridiculous idea?
I love your tee shirts, they’re personal to you and have style and attitude. I have a couple of psychedelic Hindi print tees I’ve bought in India over the years, I’ll have to wear them more often if they offend people.

I agree…it is often a double standard for men and women.

That graphic T you gave me – Dressed to piss you off – is my fave graphic T!! I often wear it, complete with the snarling face, but also with huge bouts of laughter. Thanks for the promo here. heh.
I love how you and Debbie deploy your T’s as well. There are similar Ts to the dog one on Granville Island that I always eye when I walk past. And the Badass Blogger T should be an institution!
From the pug photo and headline I initially thought this post would be Zoe in Ts.
suzanne carillo says
I should do a post about my dog wearing t-shirts! ha ha! Except of course she would be wearing a t-shirt with a photo of me on it! Ha!

Your tee shirt with the jacket is sophistication par excellence! You really do need a pug tee.

You look SO COOL and SO POLISHED in that first outfit with the Pug Tee. I mean, I love all the graphic T-shirt outfits, but that one just really struck me.
My work place doesn’t really allow graphic t-shirts, so I don’t have a ton, but I do love how they interject a bit of wit and attitude to an outfit. I think that pairing them with blazers and/or with skirts gives the outfits a but sense of juxtaposition compared to how most people expect- since we all default to t-shirt-and-jeans (or at least my high school self did…)
At home, I tend to be a skinny jeans or shorts with sweaters sort of girl. Good for cuddling puppies, which is Stella and Max’s Number One Concern with my wardrobe too 😀

Very enlighting post. I have just, for the first time in my life, ordered Tshirts with letters and bought Tshirts with a print. Haven’t gotten round to styling them yet. My niece prints them for shops. And she custom makes a few for me.
I think you look fabulous in both outfits. You certainly do not look like a bum in that first outfit. Love it. And the second one is indeed nice for fall, but I would need a jacket (I get cold easily).

I used to wear tons of graphic tees in the past. Now I’m less into them. I still wear full-print tees, often with a floral print.
My home look in Singapore is a super thin, transparent long top as a mini dress, to be able to endure the heat.
My house costume in Holland are comfy elastic pants, like leggings, leggings, sports trousers. Plus a T-shirt and house socks.
