How to wear monochrome over 40?
Just like this.
You can really see in this outfit how wearing monochrome from head to toe lengthens the body. It is just one long solid line.
I’m getting kind of excited…our weather has gotten warmer. Yesterday I went outside with just a sweater and a leather jacket. I even left the jacket open!
It’s the little things folks.
I even went out and bought some new sandals yesterday. These are them, but I bought them in a gold metallic. They were like slipping my feet into a cushioned foam mould. So comfy! Plus since they are metallic they should go with everything. Well that is how I convinced myself I needed them now.
Yes…there is still about a foot of snow on the ground. Sometimes I get a bit ahead of myself.
Do you convince yourself to buy items that you can’t wear right away?
I hope I’m not the only freak doing this.
If you like this outfit you might want to check out some other monochrome outfits…one in blue, me kicking butt in black and this last one where I’ve been bronzed like a statue.

I thought you were slim and attractive, but now I learn it’s an optical illusion caused by your monochrome outfit. Awfully clever trick!
My secret power is no more. I’m ruined.
Great mono! I clicked to find your new comfortable shoes but there were no shoes there — I have to know b/c I live, live for comfortable sandals, and NYC trip is coming up. Help a sister. xox
Sorry about that Patti! I did manage to find them here in black

They are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve slipped on my feet. And my feet are difficult to please.
Love the color in this monotonal ensemble. Did you make that necklace? It looks gorgeous and I love the one you gifted to Connie.
I’ve already bought my new metallic sandals for the season but I’ve only worn them around the house so far. I’m always thinking ahead. 😉
Yes I made that necklace. It took quite a while. All the pieces are hand sewn. I’ve made two like that but chose not to sell either of them.
Actually, I love burgundy and what is called today “Marsala”, so I loved your outfit! Monochrome is very nice, and I loved your dress and must say, looooved your boots! The sandals you have just bought are very nice and they look as comfortable as well! You look very elegant and beautiful! Good that the weather is getting better!

I love the head to toe shades of Marsala. The sweater and boots are stunning, Suzanne. Burgundy is one of my favorite outfits and I am wearing it all this week. =)
Gorgeous colour on you and I love everything from that stunner of a necklace to the killer boots, too.
When I get my legs out I usually wear the same colour tights and boots/shoes as it makes my stumpy, short-arse legs look loads longer. xxx
This is one of my favorite colors, and it looks lovely on you with your coloring. I just bought a pair of peach colored boyfriend jeans for spring/summer. Now let’s see if I actually wear them!
Oooh…I’m sure the peach will be so lovely on you. Can’t wait to see them : )
Great look (I love this color!) and the necklace is gorgeous.
lookin’ fab in this monochrome outfit.
And you’re not the only one who buys things you can’t wear right away. =)

I think the bronze is my favourite too : )
How very interesting. I hardly ever dress monochromatically. But….I see that it could make me look taller and thinner. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change? You look like a fashion model for crying out loud! If I do all black I could really rock my Suzanne original pendant!!!!!
It is funny since I noticed that you wear lots of black and white and that is why I chose the white for you. Can’t wait to see you wearing the necklace : )
You, my dear, are a fashion Genius!
I’ve enjoyed seeing all your monochromatic looks this week. I will need to take some lessons from you and figure out how I can pull this off.

Wow! I’ve been loving all your monochromatic looks! Got to try this trick out sometime.. need some help in the height department myself.

Gorgeous colour on you, and yes, you do indeed look long, lean and luscious! xxx
There you go! Now you are talking! A true monochrome, literally head to toe. 🙂 You look gorgeous, Suzanne! I would like to see the necklace up close. And I want to thank you for your monochromatic series – you’ve inspired me to get all my purple clothes out and just play with it. I found quite a few combinations that work and wore some already. Why such a simple method has never crossed my mind before you spelled it out? Sometimes, I live in my head too much instead of just jumping in and playing. And that includes my wardrobe. So I thank you for the tip. You and the power of blogging. 🙂 xxx
Beautiful variation of color. The necklace is the perfect cherry on top!

Hope to see you at my Link up Turning Heads on Tues March 17!
Those boots are so cool! Love all your monochromatic looks, Suzanne. I totally buy things before I can wear them. I’m especially guilty in the fall when it’s still 80 degrees here into the beginning of October and I’m buying sweaters and boots! 😉
Thanks so much for linking up and have a fab weekend!

Hello, ciao Suzanne…breathtaking monochrome look and nice photos; You have such a stunning talent in create fabolous outfits…cheers!
greetings
I never noticed that about monochrome creating a single line but that makes so much sense. The thing I’ve loved about all your “monochrome over 40” outfits is they are monochrome but…. that isn’t the first thing that jumps out to me about them. I notice the fashion, the style, not monochrome-as-a-gimmick (because you never do it as a gimmick!) .
Also- this is a great color on you.
Smashing colour on you! I just bought some summer sandals, even though there’s no hope of wearing them until maybe July…
x
I still very much like the bronze monochrome outfit. This burgundy red one is good too, but the bronze had a kick to it.
Your sandals in metallic are a great buy. Flat but with a wedge. And even being comfortable.. that is what we want in summer. Buying so far in advance means they still have your size. Well done.
