I'm trying to decide what this says about me and my style. If I were to write myself a personal ad based on my style sense it would read:
Vintage hoarding quirky artist. Loves dogs and hats. Attracted to one-of-a-kind gems, Old Hollywood glam, sophisticated hippies and anything French. Gender bending A-okay.
I am proud to say that 11 of these outfits have something either vintage, or purchased at a thrift, consignment store or estate sale.
I am very keen on continuing to focus on one-of-a-kind second hand pieces for 2014. They give me the most joy when I wear them and often have their own story to tell. How I would love to know the history behind my vintage pieces, who wore them for what occasion. When I put these pieces on I feel like I am wearing more than clothes, I'm wearing memories.
So do you agree with my choices? Which is your favourite?
I will be back next week with my Friday's Top Five.
Great style! Love your ideas!
I absolutely agree! I don’t think I could pick a favorite. I must say, I so enjoy following your blog. It is a bright spot in my day. I just love your style and wit. Keep up the good work!
Completing agree with your choices. Gives us such a first hand glimpse of all the many faces and fashions of the great stylish Suzanne. This is what I love most about your style and blog, it’s so unique to you. You don’t have just a classic style, you have it all and you know how to wear each and every style so well. My favorite? Do I really have to choose one? I can’t, I adore them all but my top 3 would be : the updated vintage, the men’s wear inspired, and sexy secretary (and I’ll even take the pug accessory).
Your personal ad sums it up just perfectly! Love the one with the glasses. Your outfits evoke characters and that’s what I love so much about them. I could place you in a movie in each and every one.
This is a fantastic roundup! All of these outfits show how fun fashion can be – they all give off a different vibe but I love that they each incorporate something vintage – very cool! I think my fave is the classic vintage look!
Fantastic roundup! I love that each of these looks incorporates something that’s vintage and/or thrifted. It’s a very rare outfit for me as well that’s entirely devoid of one or both of those categories. Each of these looks rocks – the first one and the B&W vintage gingham are my very faves.

Many cool and flattering outfits, Suz. Hard to choose. But my favorite is clear to me: the sexy secretary.
Menswear, onesie, gingham…all great as well. As are 1960’s and classic vintage.
I stop now, otherwise I end up mentioning them all;-)
You have a very unique wardrobe Suzanne! All very stylish and so YOU!! One of my favourites is the EASY BOHO. I love how you treasure these clothes and say that you are wearing memories! When I have had to part with something, I always hope the person who gets it will enjoy it and take care of it. Strange, eh? I hang onto some things because of memories and sentiment, I would have an easier time giving them away if I knew it would make someone happy. I don’t like to think of clothes being ruined or thrown into a landfill.

I am in love with all of these outfits!!! I always admire your style that’s so Suzanne and no one else! I wish I had your sense of style.

You know my favorite is the Sexy Secretary because of the pug accessory…dogs make every outfit fabulous! You always look so crazy cool and have a great eye for putting things together. I just wish that we actually had vintage shops in my culturally deprived area…most of the cool stuff at our Goodwill was probably mine, ha!

I’m wondering how I’d either missed or forgotten the tie outfit because it is is cute!!
I really like all the variety! So many of these looks seem they don’t have all that much in common, but you’re right, there is an overarching theme of unique and vintage pieces with history to them!
Great post; great style! Xoxo
Thanks Dawn : )
Thanks so much for following along Felicia. I really appreciate it when people take the time to write. I love interacting with my readers and getting feedback. It’s the whole reason I blog.
So funny that you chose 3 completely different looks. I love it.
That’s a great idea Alison. I’ve been meaning to put together a look based on Bonnie and Clyde. Movies are such great inspiration.
So funny that you chose that look. Although with your love of all things ladylike it isn’t too surprising. : )
I should have known you’d like that gingham dress. I was just delighted when I found it at a vintage show and it fit.
Now is that because of the pug accessory? ; )
I totally agree. I do the same. Sometimes when you get rid of the article it feels like you’re getting rid of the memories. I much prefer to pass it on to someone I know if possible.
Your style is perfect for you Alice. More corporate than me but that is because of where you work.
I decided years ago when I attended trade shows for my business that it was important to make sure people knew I was the artist without having to open my mouth. It worked. People always knew who I was. I haven’t looked back since then.
Ha ha ha! That is too funny Debbie!
You seriously need to come up here for a visit. The amount of cool Estate Sales, vintage shops and consignment stores would blow your mind. Of course they don’t come with pug accessories, but you already have quite a few doggy accessories of your own.
Knew you’d like the menswear inspired Kristian : )
I kind of look like the Cybil of the fashion world…52 different personalities. But I love that. Variety is the spice of life : )
Thanks Paula : )
My favourite is the jumpsuit. In my opinion it suits you so well and you should definitely invest in more. If you don’t have a few already. Perfection!
There’s so much to love here <3 I really dig the mix of stripes and checkers; that jumpsuit is what dreams are made of; the gingham dress is fabulous; I love your shoes in the sixth photo and that striped sweater is beyond adorable!

This is hard! I guess my favorite of the favorites is the Easy Peezy Maxi Style. I relate to it the most. But the other outfit I love and could never rock in a million years is the Menswear Inspired one. You look hot and sexy. Totally cool.
Jenni
Belated Happy New Year to you! I know you had a tough year health wise last year and hope that this year brings you nothing but health and happiness. You certainly you had a kick ass year fashion wise! Great outfits – hard pressed to pick a fave on you amongst so many great ones but at a push it would have to be easy boho, love that one x
Wow–I just love your style and everyone of these is a winner.
but I must vote for sexy secretary because a cute pug (or Chihuahua) wins it all everytime
It is very hard to choose as I like them all. You would have been a knock-out in the forties and fifties and sixties too. Doesn’t matter. You are good in any era. I think I vote for the top one. Perhaps also because I have a gingham shirt and cannot make it as nice as you do*. And I love the red pumps.

* Oh wait a minute, I had to use pumps with my jeans instead of flat boots. That would have made a difference.
I do love that jumpsuit. I have never found another one that it is flattering.
Thanks Anna : )
Is is funny how our personal self imposed limitations dictate what we feel we can or cannot wear. I could totally see you rockin’ the Menswear Inspired look.
Thanks for the wishes Veshoevius : ) I don’t think I could take another year like last year.
Ha ha! Should have known. They steal the show every time.
As a Barbie and fashion collector, this was pure eye candy. I loved all of the 50’s dresses; the Gingham, Green Classic Vintage and the Fit and Flare yellow floral. Is the yellow floral dress vintage or is it a brand that I can search Ebay for?
Mattel should take note-If they created the Sexy Secretary, along with the Pug dog of course, for their collectible line of Silkstone Barbies, it would be a hit! I also loved the 60’s orange formal dress as well.
Thanks for sharing,
Stacey
