Bold Bright Patterned Maxi Skirt Style
The last time I was thrifting I picked up this midi skirt and this bold bright patchwork patterned cotton maxi skirt.
I think it is meant to be a dress…it has a ruched elastic top.
As a skirt that ruching acts a bit like a girdle that is too large for me. Instead of making my waist smaller it makes it look bigger.

I’m starting to look a bit like an Inca woman…

I’m not one for often wearing dresses that only have a bit of ruching keeping them up. The girls are scared of wardrobe malfunctions.

I realized my handmade floral hat was perfect for this outfit after I got back home.

I walk by this tree daily on my walks with Zoë. If it is too hot for her we will often take a break here in the shade so she can relax and catch her breath.
I sit and ponder all the important things in life.

Or sometimes I just sit and look up at the sky.

A blanket of pink petals. How I wish they would last more than a week.

Like everything in life that is so beautiful it only lasts a very short time.

Or as Robert Frost put it so eloquently in my all time favourite poem,

“Nothing gold can stay.”

The Perfect Dress For An Hourglass Figure
I’ve long since known that the perfect dress for an hourglass figure should have a deep open v-neck, a fitted bodice, and a full skirt that flows out from the hips. That is my perfect dress.
The Karina dress that I won from Patti is that dress.
Thank you Patti and Karina!

The material is soft, stretchy and very comfortable. The length is a bit longer than I normally wear, but I like it.

Dress – Karina (Audrey), Shoes – Ruche (same in black), Hat – Consignment (sim)

The hat I discovered at my favourite consignment store in Oakville Friday. It was so fabulous I couldn’t leave it behind.
Plus it works perfectly with the dress.
Kismet!
I swear, every time I go in that store to pick up a cheque we end up spending more money than we earned.
And by “we” I mean “me” of course.
Husband is just along as eye candy and to sweet-talk the store owners.

The only thing this dress is missing is pockets.
Dang it.
Everything in life is better with pockets.
They need to figure out how to put a pocket on a smart phone.
Then I’d have a place for my id and my credit card. If they can figure out how to make a lipstick fit in there too I’d be set for life. I told you I’m not a handbag woman. I am a very big “pocket” woman though.
Which brings me back to my dream dress…
What about…this exact Karina dress…with pockets...and…
$1,000 cash and a baby pug hidden inside each pocket?
JACKPOT!!!

I’m not telling you what to get me for my birthday,
but some pockets, $2,000 cash and 2 baby pugs will not go unnoticed.
Just sayin’.
What is your ideal dress?
