This was another find I picked up from a little gem of a consignment store called Modify Your Closet.

I wore this out on the weekend dancing and got two compliments from men.

I think I prefer a compliments from women over compliments from men. When they say they like your dress it means they like the actual dress.

Guys…it may mean, "I like your body inside the dress".

I think most guys at these social dances are starting to hate me now anyhow. Word has gotten around that I can be a bit of a B*tch I think.

The problem is that the guys always ask me to dance on the slow songs.My husband and I have a rule that I'm okay with; when he is gone and I'm going out to dances with friends I won't dance any slow songs. I kind of like the idea of saving all the romantic sexy songs for my husband. Plus I don't like to touch someone that I don't know and have them squeezing up against me asking random awkward questions.

Call me old fashioned but I like my personal space to be,

you know…

personal.

When guys come up and ask me to dance the slow songs and I turn them down by saying, "I'm sorry but I don't dance any slow songs" quite a few of them get upset. I had some argue with me a bit, pull faces, you name it.

One really old dude ask me to dance this weekend on a faster song and I panicked a bit and said, "We're dancing apart right? Separate. With space in between us. " He was a bit surprised but didn't freak out and say he absolutely had to hold me while we danced. The guy had some class and still managed to get his boogie on. He had some moves too. He did continue with a bit of awkward talk though and boldly stated, "You're much too young to be coming here."

I have to admit after he said that I liked him more. (Frailty, thy name is woman!) I should have replied that I didn't realize there was an age cut-off. I know I'm not the youngest one there, so I wonder if he says that to all the gals. Sly old dude!

The keyhole neck detail is what sold me on this dress.

In the end this turned out to be a great dancing outfit. The dress is loose, (a bit warm as it's polyester) but there were no wardrobe malfunctions. Even when I was going nuts to one of my favourite songs by Icona Pop I Don't Care! I Love It (trust me to like "the angry song").

I even managed to dance most of the night in the shoes. Platform wedges are like training wheels for high heels.

What is the first thing you think about when you think of Easter?

Butterflies right?

This year my friend and I decided to visit the butterfly conservatory in Cambridge.

I wanted to wear this…

To show off my Vince Camuto sandal booties my husband gave me.

Instead I had to wear this

Coat – DKNY, Boot – consignment, Dress- Zara (0ld), Clutch – Danier

Because I was unsure of the weather.

In the end I left my coat in the car when we were at the conservatory because it was 25C inside the conservatory and felt more like 30C with the humidity.

Watching the quail cross the road.

And no, I don’t know what he did when he got to the other side.

Remember when I told you I recently went speed consignment store shopping? These boots are one of the items I snagged. I literally walked into the shop, we had zero time to browse as we wanted to catch a movie, saw these right away, asked my girlfriend how much time we had, she said “Maybe four minutes”, and I said, “Okay, just enough time to buy these boots.”

She said afterwards that she thought I was kidding.

I kid about all kinds of things, but sexy leather boots regular $250 now $48?

I do not joke about that.

No siree.

I thought that by dressing like a flower I might have more luck with them landing on me.

Didn’t happen.

Also…FYI…you’d never guess it…but I’m wearing this dress backwards.

Back to the butterflies…

We weren’t able to capture one of the very beautiful blue butterflies with their wings open. They are just stunning, shipped in from Costa Rica where I was lucky enough while there to see them flying in the wild.

I hope the male had a really good time since they often die soon after mating. There is a joke in there but I’m not doing it. Keeping it classy folks.

Did you know that when a butterfly emerges from the chysalis that its tongue is in two pieces? It has to unfurl the tongue and zip it together. You can see the curly tongue here.

Cute shoes right? I picked them out for her…along with everything else she is wearing, but she put it all together.

After we went for brunch at Langdon Hall. One of our favourite places for opulence and good food.

The weather was gorgeous by then so I was able to ditch my coat.

This martini was heaven!

We sent back the other drink and got another martini.

The other one was described as tasting like peaches but just tasted like very bad moonshine. Or what I imagine very bad moonshine tastes like.

This was Hazel’s dessert plate. She nabbed the last profiterole. If I’d have known I would have fought her for it.

After we stopped in Cambridge at a HUGE overwhelming antique mall called Southworks.

No photos of that though and although I thought seriously about buying some wonderful drop earrings in the end I felt I could do better at an estate sale. Sometimes those antique malls are very overpriced I find.
