I Heart Menswear
Menswear can look very cool on a woman. I'm partial to fitted vests inspired by menswear. They can be dressy or funky and can help with a larger chest since they act like an outer corset making you look smaller by "locking and loading" your chest (thanks Stacey and Clinton) and defining your waist.
I've taken one of my hubby's lovely silk pocket squares and his Dad's pocket watch for this outfit. The hats are also menswear inspired. In fact the grey poor boy hat is a men's hat that I share with my husband. I liked the outfit better with the bowler hat when I didn't have the jacket on. Hats are an important accessory for me. They leave a lasting impression.
You could definately switch out the jeans for a nice grey or black pencil skirt and switch the boots for some pumps to sex up the outfit.

Black Blazer
What is one of the most indispensable items in my wardrobe? A good blazer. Black is a natural since it goes with anything but it could very well be any other neutral color as long as the blazer fits you like a glove and is well suited to your body shape. If you're short don't get too long of a blazer. Something that hits right around you hips is perfect. Make sure you can do it up easily and that the buttons don't pull. It should be snug but not uncomfortable. I know that double breasted blazers have come back into style as of late but I still tend to shy away from those since they can make you look larger than you are. I fell in love with this little velvet number at Anthropologie. The cool thing is that it's cut like a riding jacket, longer in the back and very fitted around the waist. The stance ( which is where the top button closes) is a bit higher too which is good for gals with a bit more chest like me. It's made of stretch velvet which makes it extra comfy. This blazer transitions easily between funky hip when paired with jeans like here, to sexy soiree when worn with a short skirt or over a slinky dress. A well fitted solid colored blazer is a staple in any wardrobe.
