Mix it up

Mixing dressy pieces with casual pieces is a popular trend that isn't going away. I love this trend since it allows you to combine pieces that you normally wouldn't and enables you to wear what you have in your closet more often.
I fell in love with this unique bomber jacket that is actually made with up-cycled leather. Normally I would pair this with jeans, a t-shirt and boots but here I've shown you how to combine office wear with it. The pencil skirt and brighter cashmere sweater are typical office wear but when you add in the pearls mixed with chains, the leather bomber and those rockin' boots it becomes something altogether different. The leopard bag adds a touch of sophistication. All combined the overall look is fun and wearable.
Remember when you're looking in your closet at something you normally would only consider wearing when you're dressed up or dressed down, think outside of the norm. You'll be surprised how cool some polar opposite pieces can look when combined together.

Out the Door
I caught my hubby heading out the door in his latest sale acquisition, a black pea coat. Classic pea coats are wonderful for both men and women and transition well between Fall, Winter and Spring.
Double breasted coats need to be well fitted since they can add visual weight to the body. Give yourself just enough room to wear a sweater underneath. Ideally the shoulder seams should sit directly on the shoulder, arms and back should be comfortable and once done up it shouldn't buckle the fabric or pull at the buttons.
Paired with some great boots this is an easy to wear comfortable outfit perfect for the cold weather we are experiencing right now.
