Farm Fresh
Last weekend we finally got around to exploring a nearby village with a well known Mennonite Farmer's Market. It's about 45 minutes from here outside of Waterloo in a pretty country town called St. Jacobs. Lots of wonderful fresh veggies, old style canned goods, gorgeous fruit (sweet Ontario strawberries!), flowers, crafts, home baked goods and interesting Mennonite characters.
The best part was just relaxing, having coffee and discovering something new so close to home.
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon with my guy in the summertime.

Socks and Sandals…should I?
After getting some big blisters on my feet the other day I'm starting to think this trend might be not so horrible after all. What is wrong about wanting to save yourself some pain? Also I think that the trend might actually look cute when paired with the right ensemble. I know I might be tempting the fashion Gods here since my legs are far from stick thin and I have been known to "affectionately" call them my "man legs" since I have very manish muscles especially on my calves (thanks Dad!) I figure though if I can find the socks short enough and in the right colour I will toss the nay sayers aside and throw classic fashion sense to the wind and give it a try. I will let you know if anyone gives me any small shakes of the head and rolling of the eyes when I walk by or if I get any slight nods of approval.
