First Class
So this is the first time I've ever taken a "scrapbooking/crafting" class in my life. Normally I teach, but it was really interesting to sit in and see what other people do and learn from it.
For those in the "know" you will recognize Donna Downey and Wendy Russell.
Donna had some funny ideas about Canadian women…that we all have big boobs…not exactly sure where that came from but she also had some other good jokes from her travels. I can see that her personality is part of why people go to her classes, she is funky, quirky and relaxed.
Wendy had some interesting ideas on how to use the media. The fact that 18% of all internet use is actually on FB was very interesting to learn.
What really stood out about Wendy for me (other than her insightful ideas of course) were her amazing shoes! Little black peep-toe numbers with big red bows on them. She was smartly dressed mostly in black and white and then at the bottom were these, "hello baby! look at me!!!" Betty Boop shoes. I should have taken a photo! Bravo is all I can say.
New Featured Designer Carmi

I'm just back in from a CHA one day workshop where I got meet lots of lovely gals and chat about the "crafting industry".
Carmi (next to me in the pic) is my next featured designer and she just so happened to be there as well. I think her and I kind of got separated at birth because after chatting with her I found out we are eerily similar.
She is a über creative soul with a lovely calming presence…oh…and for those of you who watched Seinfeld, a bit of a close talker ; P . I can't wait to see what she will come up with for the next newsletter for May/June. You can check out her blog here http://carmicimicata.blogspot.com/
