I never thought that pastel pink could work for winter until… duh duh DUH…trend alert!
this year.
Now there is pink everywhere.
Santa's stylist wants him to deliver presents in a mohair candy floss pink coat with a bit of rhinestones at the collar. Don't you think it'll be nice next to his beard?
The lighting on these photos is lame. I blame it on the sun disappearing and basically forgetting us for days on end now. Even more depressing is the fact that it'll only keep getting worse till after Dec 21st.
Bring on winter.
Bring on SAD.
Bring on over-eating.
I knew when I bought this silver skirt thrifting that I wanted to pair it with a fuzzy pink sweater. Often times when I buy a piece I can envision immediately in my mind what I will be pairing it with in my closet.
Somehow though I always look 4 inches taller, 15 years younger and 10 lbs thinner in my head. Funny how that works.
I blame it on my SAD.
Every time I see this exposed floor it makes me want to head out to Home Depot and buy the dang flooring. Funny how I'm able to curb that urge and quickly ignore the situation again once I leave the room. Personally I think it makes me a professional renovations specialist. None of them get the job done on time.
Are you planning on wearing any pastels for winter?
Or will you simply hibernating till spring with copious amounts of garbage TV and snack foods in your favourite PJs? Please let me know I'm not the only one who has thought of doing this.

We call these shortening days “death and destruction” – how’s that for a cheer-up? : o I do like your snacky idea. And your pink sweater, I really like the pink sweater! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday. xo
Love this look my dear!
you look lovely 🙂 and i love that bag!! xx
oh Suzanne, I love this look!!!You look beautiful!!!Wonderful sweater and the bag is gorgeous!!!
I just love that outfit! The skirt is a-maz-ing, and it looks gorgeous with pink. I bet Santa can’t wait to come and visit you!
In Britain a lot of offices are closed between Christmas and New Years, and there are countless (good) movies scheduled on TV that week. It’s great – leftovers and panettone, sleeping late, as much TV as you can stand. I really think we need to do that here in the US!
That BAG!!!
Well that sounds about right! LOL
I’d been looking for a large vintage carpet bag but when I stumbled upon this one it was perfect.
Couldn’t agree more. Actually my husband’s company does that as well. The only downside to it is that they kind of “make you” take your holidays at that time and normally that is one of the most expensive times of the year to get away. Otherwise it is perfect time to spend together without the distractions of work nagging at you.
: )
Bummer on the SAD! I’m sorry to hear. Have you by chance tried the bright light therapy machines? I have a similar problem, but it’s lack of sunlight, which is pretty common in SF.
You do, however, have an awesome outfit on. I must try me a wide belt over a sweater, now.
Okay I was exaggerating when I mentioned the SAD. Some people here do suffer from that, and yes they do use bright light therapy to treat it but I was just *trying* to be funny. I think I failed. I know that writing online often times irony doesn’t translate. Although when it is grey outside I feel sad, so that kind of counts right?
Just wait until January. It’s so depressing in January. ;o}
Since daylight savings ended, my blog photo taking schedule has really been messed up quite a bit. Plus it’s just been so dreary these past few days, bleh.
I knew that skirt was amazing when you got it–I adore it with the pink fuzzy sweater!!
I’m one of those freaks that LOVE winter and cold weather!!! I’m on the hunt for an icy aqua or pale blue fuzzy sweater for winter.
THAT BAG!!!! Love love love it! XXX
Ahhh…but aren’t you glad it’s perfectly acceptable to wear light pink in the winter? Especially since we look so good in it…ha! The color is really gorgeous with your hair, and that skirt is killer. The lack of sunlight totally sucks. It’s barely light when I go to work and it’s getting dark when I get home. Believe it or not we have no rooms with good window lighting in our house so taking pictures for the blog has become a huge challenge…

I do like this outfit and the pink feels fresh with the metallic and cool bag. Just the right pink with your beautiful hair.
I had my vitamin D tested at my physical and it was low, Minnesota doesn’t get much sun in the winter either. I’ve been taking some D all year and I do feel better.
I never seem to look very well in most pastels (I’m not a “spring” coloring?) but I like seeing it with others, like here!
Bummer to being sad. I think this pretty outfit should be able to cheer you up! I tend to wear darker colors in the winter but I do still add some brights here and there.

Wow – pink is YOUR colour. This is a freaking awesome outfit. The skirt is amazing as well. And let’s not forget the bag. Don’t worry about the over-eating – that’s why we have stretch belts. And Photoshop. Hahaha. Seriously fabulous here Suzanne.
The pink is so sweet and your pairing is super! For me colors have no season.. I’ll be wearing yellow this winter for all I care.. go with the mood kind of thing, you know 😉 By the way, that tapestry bag is so vintage!

Thanks for cheering me up Lisa! LOL
You’d look great in a pale blue version of this.
We have the exact same issue with our house. There is literally one room that gets a tiny bit of sunlight in it. If we should ever move I want large windows everywhere.
I should mention that I did find a house like this recently and was 100% sure it was “our” perfect house. There was one small problem…it was 1.79 million dollars. ha ha. Oh well.
I am taking vitamin D too. So far I have no idea if it works or not.
I find them a bit tricky too. This pink seems to be okay for me. When I had blond hair I couldn’t wear this colour.
Thanks Melanie : )
I guess when it is hot all the time there wouldn’t be a reason to change colours.
Yes, the tapestry bag is vintage. 1940’s I think.
It’s equally dull and vile here, everything seems such an effort in these dreary days.
Love that mermaid maxi, the tapestry bag adn how pretty you are in pink. x
I love pink and pastels – Change of seasons never prevented me from wearing any color i wanted to wear – Funny trends, they tell you when to wear colors –
I think we should wear more pretty colors especially in the winter –
Yes you look pretty tall in your outfit, but i thought you were already tall –
Yes X-mas break, can’t wait- it will get me out of the darn rush hour for a while –
Ariane xo
Um, the latter. For real. I get SAD every winter, I hate not having the sunshine! I LOVE this look! And you look pretty stinkin’ thin to me girl! I’m loving that pastel pink is a winter trend this year – LOVE it. And I’m kind of obsessed with your bag!

This soft pink actually is a color matching you perfectly. It highlightens your hair beautifully. The grey skirt is also amazing.
Sorry you haz da sadz.
But I know the pink is picking you up! Delightful with your coloring … finding the right pink for us redheads is a challenge. You look delightful in it … and the fuzzy sweater is perfect. Also adorbs with your hat. If you’re going to wear pink, go big. Lovely on you.
If Santa doesn’t want the pink coat of your imagination, I’ll take it!
I keep telling myself I don’t want a pink coat for winter, but I keep looking for one anyway. Funny how that works.
My Aunt had a purse almost identical to yours! I swear it was hers. Ohmygosh!
Pink it up gorgeous! xxx

What a marvelous look! Pretty extravagant and unusual. It looks great on you. That bag is totally wow! Loving the whole ensemble. Btw: wanted to leave a comment on BBARG (LOL), but seem to be unable to comment there. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I love that look on you. I can totally see why you had to have that shirt. I would probably have not bought it because of the boob butterflies, but with pain in my heart.
