There will be no escaping this soul crushing winter for me this year.
Hubby's work is once again interfering with my holiday plans. He will be heading to Washington this week, the only time we could have squeezed in a tropical vacation getaway before I am scheduled to look after my sister's pug while they go on March break to Florida.
Am I devastated?
What do you think?
I have hope that I will lift myself off of the floor where I planted myself once I found out. But why rush?
What's the point?
I'm not going anywhere.
I need to pack a few small belongings into my vintage needlepoint bag and and run away to a land where the only ice is floating in cocktails.
And by running away I mean going downstairs to binge watch Netflix
in front of the fire with a large bottle of wine and something naughty,
like plate full of coconut chocolate cheesecake bites.
Ah running away, you never tasted so good.
I will be watching "Only You" a classic little rom-com
that takes place on the island of Capri.
What is so special about Capri?
Have a look.
If you haven't seen this little gem of a movie I highly recommend it.
Also it doesn't hurt that it stars a very young and sexy Robert Downey Jr.
{le sigh}
An hour and a half of complete escapism.
Husband came back yesterday with this little bag to take some of the sting out of missing out on a vacation…
It's lovely.
But let's be real.
It's no Capri.
Shoes – Fluevog, Wide Leg Pants – BCBG, Bag & Earrings – Vintage, Silk blouse – Joe Fresh, Sequin top – H&M
Do you have a favourite movie that allows you to escape?
The weather forecast for the rest of the week is a dismal pathetic excuse for Spring. In fact any other year this forecast would be considered the coldest most wretched days of winter that has now lasted for oh…5 months!!!
So don't hold back!
Share!
I need some new escape films to add to my list.
**UPDATE**
Husband couldn't stand my incessant whining about not getting a vacation this winter.
We are heading out to Jamaica next week!
Proof that complaining does pay off.
Yeah baby!
or as the Jamaicans say,
"irie mon"
